In 1978, the Boston Celtics were owned by LA film producer Irv Levin, and the Buffalo Braves were owned by John Y. Brown and Harry Mangurian. Buffalo was relocating to San Diego, and Levin wanted to own a team on the West Coast. So Levin basically traded teams with Brown/Mangurian. However, my understanding of the legal technicalities is that actually the Boston Celtics moved to California, and the Buffalo Braves moved to Boston, and then the teams executed a complete inventory exchange.

That means, using LA logic, the LA Clippers are 13-time Champions. :smokin

The shot was so back-breaking, sports fans like myself felt the pain. I can't imagine witnessing a choke of that magnitude for a team I support. The funny thing is Spur fan likes to deflect this monumental collapse. I wonder why.

i always felt bad for your bills, i remember Norwood's kick as a kid. it's crazy they even went 4 times in a row, that just sounds impossible in today's league.

as for that 3, yeah I turned off the tv pretty much whenever they showed that shit. it's not so much the three, since it is a helluva shot, it's the thought that Duncan wasn't out there. damn. Just gotta hope we can learn from it.

Not to be a dick, but how does 0.4 or the Manu foul get you prepared for a loss like that? Those 2 aforementioned years it is largely assumed the Spurs would go on to win the LOBT, but there's really no way of knowing. This time the sidelines were cordoned off, the trophy was making it's way to the floor, and the Stanford band was out on the court. Just brutal.

SWEPT! AND YOUR MAVS did not even make the playoffs last year........

BTW I remember a Allen Layup in 08 that secured the comeback from 20 some odd down which basically sealed the Finals for the Celts and blew it for LA, so you can talk all you want SIR but I am sure your team blew a huge lead that game with one more left at home which they had a chance to go up 3-2 and would have in all probability! Instead they blow a huge lead and then go down 3-1 :lol. How you have forgotten.

You are correct...... This is the truth and I am a Spurs fan. This was a huge loss, the worst one yet by far. We as fans all see one of these losses in our lifetimes or near it, this was the loss that will make me shake my head no matter what happens from here on out. This is the one that got away.

Yeah, there's no justification for that. 2 of the best coaches in the league (Pop and Vogel) lost to the Heat b/c they took out their best (or 2nd best) player when they needed them most.

Because they're series-changing, backbreaking shots. I'm not going to tell you one ranks above the other or anything like that, all I'm saying is once we've been through .4, you don't take anything for granted anymore. During that Game 6, I never once felt it was a done deal, started celebrating, etc. You just grow some sort of pessimism, tbh. It's a shame, but deep down Manu is responsible for all that cynicism. Didn't close out on Fisher fast enough, stupid foul on Dirk, and the incomparably horrible Finals performance.

imho, it doesn't really prepare you. it's just a further raping of the ass, this one though is about as painful and bloody as possible.

as for your Pop and Vogel comparison, I don't know man, I realize Manu shit the bed because he's either gassed or helping out his Cuban brothers, but pulling Duncan still makes no sense. The only way I can justify it is that Pop is always watching minutes, which is a great thing, but it can turn into micro managing real fast and that's what happened there. Perhaps he thought Duncan wasn't effective enough to make that stop, but it's a decision that will be analyzed for a long time. He's still defending it, but hopefully privately he's apologized to the team. I don't think he was trying to lose, but basically a Schottenheimer moment. All I can hope for is that we get another shot or two, learn from the mistakes.

I do give SA credit though for not having mass riots or craziness. Can you imagine how the bean3rs in LA would react to a loss that brutal?

I'm not 'equating' them because I'm not raking them. If I had to rank them, that Allen shot was probably worse, all I'm saying that after .4, it wasn't wholly unexpected (at least for me).

Thanks for semi answering the question. 8 was a first round ordeal in which yall likely would've lost to us had yall been able to pull out of the first round. Yall were spent by the time the playoffs neared. If you thought the backdoor sweep was bad, we would've ran yall out of the gym. If yall somehow miraculously got passed us, them Mavs would've beat yall partner. And even then, the cHeat would've given you a prelude of what to expect the next year.

No matter how you spin it, 6 is the worst and you know it. You had it WON!

You're missing a lot of info there. It was a first round debacle, but the big, big problem then was Duncan looked like shit, and IIRC, he either was on the last year of his contract or only had one year left. We still didn't have a kid like Leonard around.

Luckily he decided to continue and had a renaissance couple seasons afterwards, but after that series, everything had a huge question mark as far as where to go from there.

No matter how you spin it, 6 is the worst and you know it. You had it WON!

You don't get it because you never won a championship, much less four, and probably never will get it with a beta like Durant.

So Dr. Buss must've had the longest HIV incubation period in human history. Once again, the GOAT at everything:lol

He still lost in the end. But yeah, as far as banging hot coeds and my dead wife's corpse, he is the GOAT.

I always thought Dr Buss was the GOAT... also applies to Phil Jackson, tbh

I catch your drift but it still doesn't equate to game 6. Like I said, you had a championship won.

Its cute how you like to try and spin stuff. Ironic thing is you demonstrate to be a content beta fan with this post.

No, you really don't catch my drift. All Spursfans know the very worst is gonna come the day Timmy hangs them up. And after that series, we could see it coming right there and then.

Fortunately, tragedy was averted then.

:lol of course I'm happy as hell with the Duncan era. Outside of Lakerfan, who has had that much success for 16 years in a row?

I'm much more grateful than greedy with this core at this point, no doubt about it. The little kids that never been able to order a championship DVD, I get it, it sucks to get excited about the first Finals and then get curbstomped in 5. That's not being an alpha fan though, that's just being a fan that never been to the top before.

he has a different opinion over 6. Alot of crap has happened in spurs history. Whether it was the manu foul, 6, .4 or in 2011 when it looked like we were done. for most 6 is the worst for us. If you want some gratification so badly for someone to admit 6 take it from me. 6 is the worst sports related thing i had to go through. Obviously nono has different opinions. Just because he feels 6 isn't his #1 spurs pain doesn't mean he won't admit to something. I actually understand why he finds the 2011 griz series as his worse. There's some old guys that think '79 was worse, which was basically a '02 kings before the '02 kings. 6 to me is the worst, but I suck it up. Whenever they play a video of it on tv i force myself to watch it, I've watched game 6 in it's entirety like 5 times after it was over and the final 5 minutes like a milion times because i want to build it up for this season and hopefully...it can make winning a ship this year far more sweeter.
