:lol I'm actually at the game. He had a nice dunk but damn he is so slow. I have a pic of Davis winning a jump ball against him. I'll post it when I get home.

People were just fooling themselves to think Oden was still paralyzed in a wheelchair tbh. Baring financial reasons, everyone wants to play for the Heat nowadays and there's no reason for them to waste a roster spot on a fucking paraplegic when they could use it to sign another competent veteran (like birdman) who's desperate to ring and doesn't care about the pay. Heat is the boss in the free agent market now, and when they sign someone, he's definitely capable of balling, imho.

they're still wet over it. and they're still bitterly wet at the fact that Odone didn't sign with the Spurms.

Pelicans are up 82-77, trying to get to 7-0 in preseason

Oden will be in a suit for the entire season. He'll not play 10 games.

Heat signed him as sort of an insurance rather than a journeyman like Uncle Juwan imho. my point again, the heat are still rather thin in the paint, and it wouldn't make no sense to them to sign a crippled Oden instead of a still-capable veteran (like birdman).

They still have Birdman though.

but Uncle Juwan has officially retired, if I remember correct, so they probably can't sign him again right before the playoffs begin, imho

He's balling huh? Was it because of this dunk? That dunk will be causing some serious pain and swelling in the morning so I hope it was worth it.

he has yet to prove he can handle a 82 game season let alone playoffs. Only way to see how his knees will hold up is with time.

I would play him 5 minutes per game until March, tbh, then try 10 MPG in March/April/playoffs..

Realistically, he will probably get hurt during one of the short regular season stints, tbh..

Yeah, but how long until he starts asking for "a bigger role"?

what are you talking about, birdman is signed :lol.. not to mention, the heat are probably the team having the hardest time to sign anybody, they have no cap space and only explayers like juwan have anything to gain from going there.

I would have loved to have Oden on the Spurs even if he got injured in the first game. Low risk high reward imo. He'll probably go down again but you never know.

calling oden a potentially high reward is debatable, the guy hasn't played in 4 years, how do you expect anyone plays him 20min per game with a straight face? How can anyone expect him to hit +.300 fts? How can anyone expect him to guard anyone in transition? Here the upside is really really low.

there're still many vets out there who wanna try their best to avoid retiring without rings, and I believe Miami is the most attractive destination to those niggas this days. So it doesn't hold much water to say they have the hardest time signing anyone, they have the easiest time probably (knowing most teams are over the salary cap) and they ain't at no risk of overpaying anyone.
