Remaining teams in alphabetical order.

Chicago
Miami
San Antonio

Jalen says CP3 best PG for this coming year. Tony Parker love that he showed was for the Playoffs/Finals only. Jalen and Bill both believe Paul George is the #1 LeBron defender. No mention of Kawhi. I think San Antonio comes in at number 3 sadly.

They won't put the Bulls over the spurs. Simmons is a spurs admirer

On those vids they have a short segment called "miami vice" basically what that team has that can beat miami. Obvious sign they gonna rank miami at number one

Seriously, did George limit lebron? Sure Kawhi didn't shut him down, but he made things hard for lebron

I saw on another forum the list and the Spurs were #3. I don't know how are the Bulls better than the Pacers, but fuck it.

Bill has spurs at 3, heat at 2, bulls at 1.

The Bulls are ranked #1, which is patently ridiculous.

Somebody needs to Bring DoK's PG theory to Bill Simmons's attention.

Yeah the Bulls shouldnt be ahead of Miami, San Antonio, or Indiana IMO. Chicago is unproven, especially with Rose barely coming back and some unproven role players...

:lol @ Chicago being #1 when Miami returned a young championship core, San Antonio stayed the same and Indiana got better over the summer via free agency.

My thoughts exactly. I frankly don't see this Bulls team as being better than Golden State, which Bill and Jalen have at number 9. And I don't see them as better than any of the teams ranked 8-2 either, with the possible exception of the Clippers.

Ranking them above Miami might be an actual crime. The last time CHI and MIA met in the playoffs (with Rose healthy), the Heat were a worse team than they are now and the Bulls were a better/deeper team than they are now. And in that series, the Heat thoroughly shut down Derrick Rose and won in 5 games.

Yeah the Heat, Spurs, Pacers, Warriors, and Clippers should easily be ranked over the Bulls. Hell I might even rank the Nets over the Bulls right now..

Chicago is overrated. The only thing that makes them a serious threat is their head coach. Derrick Rose is still rounding into form and after him, they don't have a guy that you could call a franchise player.

IMO, it's

1. Heat
2. Spurs
3. Pacers
4. Rockets
5. Thunder
6. Nets
7. Clippers
8. Bulls

what do people see in chicago? they have NOT gotten better other than rose. rose is a top player in the league, but nate robinson is gone now and that will hurt them for bench play. hamilton is getting old, boozer went to duke so i put no faith in him and deng only plays well against miami. 2nd round exit.

Ehh... I'm not sold on the Warriors this year. I have them making the playoffs but I'm not sure they can match what they accomplished last season.

That is all Bill's list, not Jalens. Bulls @ 1 is pretty overhyped. The team lost a lot of important players like Robinson, Belinelli and Hamilton. I think the Heat, Spurs and the Pacers are better. I'd even put LAC in front of them.

ohh, they lost hamilton? that's bad all together. i still dont' know why everyone is picking the thunder in the west. durant and westbrooke alone will not beat us. short changing harden was the best thing their owners did for us. that reminded me of cleveland trading ron harper for danny ferry and brad daughtery said when jordan talked to him, he was grateful for it.

I believe the ol' sport let Lebron get an easy game winning lay up at the buzzer

Tell that to the poster who told me to stop watching basketball. Yeah, PG24 IS a food lebron defender, but not as good as Kawhi. Lebron didn't struggle with the Pacers as much as he did with the Spurs. Sure, gameplan had much to do with it but if the player isn't THAT competent enough to enforce it, then it ends up useless.

There's only a handful of people who can guard Lebron and keep him somewhat at bay, PG24 is not one of them, I'm sorry. He did great in that series when he could but defending Lebron was not one of his skills. Kawhi did a monster job on Lebron until Game 7 and when he decided to guard him by keeping a distance as big as a football field from him.

They seem to omit a lot of changes because if they added those changes, it could change what they are trying to portray the Spurs as.

It's like they're lying and the know it, but they don't want the CASUAL Fan to realize it.

Typical of the 4Letter. What else is new?

I like Bill Simmons, But every time he talks about the Spurs, I just get these heavy undertones of jealousy, hatred, and coveting from his tone of voice. Like he is trying so hard to be unbiased yet can't help but still hate the Spurs deep down inside.

I'm not sold the Bulls are above the Spurs. The Spurs would defeat them in a series easily had they played last year or if they played right now imo. We need to wait and see how Rose recovers from his knee to see if he can get back to MVP form by the end of the season. IF he can, then the Bulls can compete with the Spurs. But tbh, even a fully healthy Bulls team with Rose has seemed a bit worse than the Spurs in both 2011 and 2012. And I'm saying this as a fan of both teams. The Bulls have a very limited offensive playbook.

The Heat you have to rank above us simply because they won, but I'm not ready to put anyone over us until I've seen the season pan out some. I think the teams to watch would be the Clippers, Rockets, and Pacers. The Grizzlies. . .honestly I've kinda lost faith in them after last season. They ambushed us right after Manu broke his elbow in 2011, and outside of that playoff series, we have manhandled the Grizzlies EVERY YEAR. Our track record against them is absolutely sparkling outside of 2011 playoffs. I don't see the Thunder recovering either. They're going to slip down some now.

Lakers and Mavs are both done imo. Celtics too. The Celts may make the playoffs because that conference sucks, but they aren't going anywhere. The Nets and Knicks don't strike any fear in my heart either. They're mostly just hype and name.

Anyway, it should be a fun season. It's not as predictable as the last couple have been.

I don't get that feeling at all. I've read or watched most of his work and there's a deep respect and admiration for the Spurs. Sure he's jealous that the Celts didn't get TD, but compare what he says about the Lakers/Kobe and there's no comparison.
