They do look legit tbh. If the Spurs are healthy come May, I could see a Spurs-Heat rematch.

I'm confident enough that our mavs will clinch a top 4 seed this season tbh, or the 5th seed at worst, so we'll avoid drawing a tough matchup early on in the first round. 2nd round will be tough anyway no matter our opponent is OKC, Spurs or Clippers, and the result will be a toss up just like it'll be in the WCF. We may possibly make the finals again to finish the Heat just like we did in 11, but it sounds just too optimistic and too good to be true. So realistically I'm gonna predict a 2nd round exit for them mavs, with WCF being their ceiling.

Clippers have a shot. They have the best PG in CP3. They have a top 5 PF (strong finisher) in Griffin. They have a top 3 defender in Jordan anchoring their paint. They acquired shooters in JJ/Dudley. Crawford is still 6-MOY-quality. Their bench should be strong - lead by underrated Collison. They might have added the perfect coach to motivate them in Doc - which could get them over the hump. They have a shot.

and it'll also depend on when Westchuck returns. If he takes an extended time recovering and the team finishes 5-6, then you're gonna see many teams tanking to avoid OKC, for the first round at least. Everyone knows OKC are a top 3 team in the west when they're healthy.

not a bad list from Findog. Clippers definitely look scarier, though I still think Doc is overrated without Thibs but least players will listen to him more since he's black. I still am not sold on Heat repeating, but it very well could happen. Spurs biggest obstacle is to make sure they are healthy and clicking when it counts, more towards the end of the season. We'll need some luck, but one thing I trust about Pop is his ability to manage minutes. I think Pop understands the war of attrition aspect better than anyone. I'll say this, this is the first season in a long time where I have no idea who will be in the Finals, which is pretty cool. About time the NBA start to embrace parity and not be so predictable about protecting bandwagoner teams.

Pelicans and Bobcats in the Finals and Stern kills himself after that turd of a Finals matchup goes to 7 games with the Pelicans winning by 50 points. It is also the least watched NBA Finals in the history of Earth with an average of 3 million viewers.

I think they definitely have a chance. I like what they did in the offseason and Anthony Davis will only get better. He's definitely a future All Star and top 10-15 player.

They went 41-41 last year with Dirk missing 27 games and needing another 15 games to play his way back into shape. So they really only got 1/2 a season from Dirk last year. They had no Point Guard and no Center. I think a full season of Dirk is an upgrade over 1/2 a season of Dirk, and I think their guard rotation is better than last years. I think Dalembert, flawed as he is, is a decent upgrade over their options at the 5 last year. I think they are at best first-round fodder but if they don't have any catastrophic injuries then they WILL be better than last year. The only other teams ahead of them that definitely got better were the Clippers and Rockets.

Nah, I like the additions of Dudley and Reddick, and I agree with whoever upthread said now that they have a black coach with a ring they'll listen to him. I expect them to play with more cohesion and toughness now that they have Black Popovich.

Not sold on dem Rockets yet tbh. Depends on what they can get for Asik IMO. The Warriors are a sprained ankle away from getting bounced in the first round.I was pretty high on dem last year but they beat an overrated Nuggets team and Pop gifting them a couple of games in the 2nd round. A healthy David Lee makes them worse in the playoffs IMO.

Bulls over Clippers. D-Rose plays hell bent on destroying the league and gets to face CP3 in a surprised Finals match-up. LeBron can't carry an injured D-Wade and an aging Bosh who is noble in a contract year but continues to stay out of the paint. Oden can't regain serviceable form and the size of Chicago and Indiana prove the perme fatale for the 3 peat. Or, I could be wrong and LeBron adds no.3 to the ring count!

I'm not sold on the Clippers. Unless Rivers can get Blake to play up to that franchise player hype he got coming out of Oklahoma, I don't see it. Their bigs outside of Blake are Jordan, Jamison, Mullens, and Hollins. I mean I'd puke my fucking lunch right now if any of those losers were on the Spurs opening night roster.

To be fair, I have a feeling the frontcourt depth will be addressed during the season as veterans (like Okafor for example) get bought out, tbh...

I know my dream matchup of the Pelicans and Bobcats in the Finals is extremely unlikely but it would be awesome. The aftermath of a Pelicans-Bobcats Finals would set the NBA back probably 10 years. I wonder if the Pelicans and Bobcats would get that many games on TNT and ESPN the following season. Christmas Day would be hilarious because the Finals rematch is usually on Christmas Day on ABC. Besides, wouldn't an NBA championship for the Pelicans be a great story for the city and people of New Orleans? I know New Orleans is a shitty sports city but the media would love the story.

Mavs over the Warriors would be awesome. It would be great if the Warriors by some miracle won the Pacific Division and got the number 1 seed and the Mavs were the 8th seed and the Mavs won it in 7 games after the Warriors blew a 3-0 series lead. The Mavs will win game 4 of that series in triple overtime on a controversial call that puts Dirk on the FT line and Dirk makes both free throws and the Mavs win that game by 1 point.

Mavs and Warriors will finish #4 and #5, and that'll be the only possibility the two teams meet in the first round imho. Clippers bungled their season opener but I still believe the Spurs, OKC and Clippers will have the top 3 on lock tbh, mavs being a close No.4
