Hopefully nothing serious. If he misses a week its 4 games. 8 games in two weeks. Including 5 road games. Against 4 likely playoff teams.

But I'm getting ahead of myself...

I imagine he'll be in the starting lineup for the Lakers game.

When it happened I thought it was either his face or his shoulder. Then McDumbass tweeted that it was his hand. A bruise to soft tissue in the chest is preferable to all of those.

tony allen is a pretty big bitch, he put the corner of his elbow hard into duncan. he's always doing those little jabs in the scuffle, it's so dirty.

It's almost certainly not a big deal. It's hardly worth a thread.

TA is such a sketchy player, remember growing up playing sports with that kid that was always doing little jabs and bows and trips? never gets caught and makes a living off of buying space with dirty moves?

Part of the reason he didn't come back is because of the huge lead they amassed. Dwindled down the stretch but at that point decision was made. Also good to give the others the chance to close out the best big man duo in the west.

Yeah...as in the Spurs are going to end the season of every team they face in the 2014 playoffs.

Timmy will be fine...it's just a friggin' bruise.

GO SPURS GO!!!!!

contusion is just a deep bruise. when he got elbowed in the chest the worst case scenario was something to the lung or a fractured rib. when i heard it was a bruise, i knew it was no biggie. he probably suits up next game. i'd be legitimately shocked if he missed more than one

If Timmy contracts pneumonia as a result of this injury, it could be life-threatening, tbh. I now fear for Timmy. :( :( :( Say a prayer for him and hope he heals. First he had Amy's dumping, now he has life-threatening pneumonia to deal with... :depressed

Allen's a bitch. Bowen's on a completely different level, maybe if Allen hunts down Szczerbiak and dropkicks him in the face he'll be a bit more legit but for now he's just a dirty flopping bitch.

Tim was on the bench rubbing his chest around the collar bone. The trainer was with him
then he got up to leave the floor with the trainer. The team doctor jumped out of
his seat in the Spurs box to go to the dressing room. Minutes later R.C. was out of the
box heading to the dressing room. With every one heading for the locker room I was expecting
air life to land at mid court.

I think I have an idea of what the injury might be because of where he was hit.

Another NBA player had the same type of injury 2 years ago and missed 3 months (only played the final 3 games of their first round exit); don't want to name the type of injury because hopefully it isn't that serious.

From the Spurs website

Spurs forward Tim Duncan underwent a CT scan this morning in San Antonio which confirmed that he has a chest contusion. He suffered the injury during the third quarter of last night's Spurs-Grizzlies game. His status is day-to-day and he is listed as doubtful for Friday night's Spurs-Lakers game. Duncan will travel with the team this afternoon when the Spurs depart for a three-game trip that begins in Los Angeles.

Glad to see it's nothing serious. I'm all in favor of resting him until we play Golden State on the 8th. Our next 4 opponents (Lakers, Blazers, Nuggets, Suns) should all be easy enough to beat without Duncan.
