While many here are glad he's gone, many also appreciated his service with the Spurs.

He came off the bench tonight, shot 6-16, ended up with 16 points 5 assists. He'll have the green light to shoot there all year, and I'm glad. He deserves to have fun. Most players start off trying to get big numbers, and later in their careers sacrifice #'s to go join a contender. He had the reverse, starting his career with a small (yet important) role for a contender. Now he gets to go out there and chuck his little heart out :lol

I always appreciate a good deal, and he was pretty good bang for the buck. I just feel THAT DUDE is a better fit here, and I still feel that way.

Gary had a super bad foot problem last year. It had to effect his whole game......

Good for Neal, but the Spurs are better off with Belinelli.

good for him, we couldn't keep him, he deserves to be paid.

Spurs where too cheap to keep him. Well let's hope Mills is just as explosive.

Note that Neal's defense isn't mentioned at all. Probably better that way.

a cancer? really? maybe you can refresh my memory, but I don't remember Neal ever demanding a trade, demanding the ball, sleeping with any teammates' wives, or going Dez on the bench. are your panties in a bunch over any player who is a former Spur?

He was worth what the spurs paid him while he was a spur. He hit some clutch 3's for the spurs.

I think Spurs quit on him not the other way around.

I'll miss Gary. Having a former rapist on the team really helped give the Spurs some street cred.

I hope him and Blair tear it up tbh. it's not like when Beno left and I would crack up when he'd get stripped bringing the ball up.

Wow, how incredibly short-sighted and dumb.

The guy was never in anyway a cancer to this team in any degree. Excellent teammate, and a guy that was willing to play whatever role he was asked to play. He was not a primadonna cancer (ie, Kobe), crazy cancer (ie, Ron Ron), quitter cancer (ie, Dwight) or pouty cancer (ie, Stephen Jackson and Nando de Colo). So in what way was he a cancer?

Mad respect for Gary. Glad he got paid. And whenever hes on the court (and not playing the Spurs), Go Bucks!

I really don't get all the hate for Neal. Some of y'all act like we were paying him a shit ton of money and he was ripping us off.

If you weren't satisfied with his performance, blame Pop for giving him playing time or the FO for not getting a replacement. Neal had a very reasonable contract and was just filling the role he was asked to provide.

Cancer on the floor, taking every stupid 30 foot 3s/turning the ball over/ignoring his teammates/always losing his man on D

Yeah he wasn't that great but I don't know how you can hate him... Super clutch, pretty likable, best bandwagon/church on ST (the train thing was hilarious), fuck I miss him...
