Yeah, but you also had Duncan turning back the clock and Neal and Green going HAM for most of the series.... I could see Terry maybe having a couple on-fire games like Neal/Green, but they don't have anyone on the roster that can match Duncan's impact, tbh.... also, Parker > DWill....
thunderup
11-01-2013, 08:25 PM
DWill will revert to a fat overrated scrub when defenses key on his game. I can't imagine what an engaged and swarming perimeter Heat defense will do to Brooklyn on the perimeter. Joe Johnson is iso trash that will kill ball movement, a necessity when playing Miami. Word coming out of Brooklyn is that Brook has finally taken that next step. If the Nets are to do anything it's going to be because Brook reaches that potential. KG will change the culture of that team slightly but it won't be enough.

I'm working on the assumption that Lopez will be that guy this season. Parker is definitely much better than DWill, but Parker was also depended on to run the team. DWill won't have to be that for the Nets.

Lopez is too one-dimensional and not good enough on the boards or defensively to match Duncan's impact, although he does have a nice offensive game, tbh....
Parker is definitely much better than DWill, but Parker was also depended on to run the team. DWill won't have to be that for the Nets.
Yeah, but DWill is supposed to be the Nets' superstar in his prime, tbh.... if he's not good enough, they're reduced to hoping Lopez really does become Duncan and/or Pierce and KG play like they're young again - that's a tall order, and even that might not be enough against LeBron in the playoffs....

The big 3 in the east is interchangeable - depending on health:
Heat
indiana
Brooklyn
Indiana and Brooklyn both have size and present matchup problems for Miami. They better hope Oden can give them 15-20mpg because Haslem/Bridman can't deal with Hibbert or Lopez. Despite Miami's quickness and 3-pt shooting, size still matters.
Their size and their additions will make it difficult for Miami to make it to the Finals again tbh.

It was closer than you think...and neither team had a world beating supporting cast. Maybe I went a bit far saying trash but it wasn't far from even. Gibson and West both gave James good support shooting(both shot over 43% from distance for the entire playoffs) and an underrated performance by Joe Smith help bolster the front line. I think they'll be like the 08 Celtics in the playoffs, C's went to a Game 7 with the fucking Hawks that year, they were 37-45 :lmao and then went 7 games against the Cavs that the spurs swept the year prior.
I don't think the Heat will struggle THAT much, but they'll have at least one tough series in the playoffs this year, they're simply more fatigued and older than the rest of the league, 330 or something games in the last 3 seasons? It wears on you. Lebron is still young enough so it won't affect him, but if his supporting cast is even shitter than last year, I don't know if they even make it out against the Pacers or even if they do, how much do they have left in the Finals?
