Legit NFL starter or flash in the pan? I'd draft a QB somewhere early just in case. Though the silver lining to all this fuckery is Schaub can move to the unemployment line.

I'm impressed by Keenum but it's only 2 games. I want see if he can do this for the rest of the season.

See ya Schaub. Thank god!!

He got some 07-09 Romo in him. I like it.

I'll say legit. He's got a long way to go still but he's put up two quality performances against two quality opponents and showed some real growth in between the two. About half the stuff they were running against the Chiefs were things they had to install on the fly that Keenum knew from UH. Last night he played almost the whole game under center. Fourth quarters still remain an issue, but since they have been most of the year I'm not ready to lay too much of that at his feet.

I don't think he'll ever be a true Franchise QB in the NFL, but going forward he's not on ever growing list of things that the Texans need to replace in the offseason IMO.

He just threw it up and let Andre go get it. I would too.

Flash in the pan.

Way too early to say, he has the rest of the season to prove himself, tbh..

i'm not yet sold on him tbh, i didn't like some monkeyballism in him yesterday, he almost had kis knees explode at least twice on some retarded lateral runs.. I want to see some mid range throws and an gameplan that gets completed, until i can see him as legit. Granted, texans have nothing to fight for, but the guy is still undersized, so his pocket awareness might be an issue.

He does have some Romo in him. I'm not a QB expert but I remember watching Romo in his first preseason, telling people I thought he had the goods, and I think Keenum can make some plays as obvious from last night. If I were Texans I would only draft a QB in first round if one jumps out at you, otherwise grab one later to develop.

He looks good so far but I want to see if he can keep this up for the rest of the season.

i was clamoring for the jags to trade gabbert for him straight up early in the season :lol

He's great but I want to see him in more of a pressure situation. Last night he really had nothing to lose. He probably has a chip on his shoulder (awful combine, UH the only school who called, etc). Will it wear off? I'm a UH grad so I'd love to see him kick some ass. Love the advantage of his mobility in the Texans offense. My only concern is his height.

Oh yeah, and Matt Schaub - you can take your helmet off now, tbh

Just curious. Which of the QB's do you hope your team takes in the next draft to compete with Gabbert?

the jags board are already dick riding teddy claiming him the next andrew luck :lol my preference would be clowney in the first, carr in the second plus whoever we draft at qb will be the de facto starter, concensus is gabbert gets cut and we draft two qbs.

We Niner fans chanted "We Want Carr", i knew it was the lowest point of the franchise.

I'm glad I got to see Keenum's first home start, that was a pretty legit game all around except by the refs blowing huge calls for both teams. If you go to a Texans game now, you'd think Matt Schaub was dead. Probably saw just as many Keenum jerseys as Watt jerseys.

I like him. But under no circumstances should the Texans pass up on a quarterback they like in the draft for him. They need to get elite talent at that position any way they can get it, especially if the other players on the team decline. And I say that as a person who thinks elite quarterbacking is overrated.

I agree with some of what he said. Don't pass up on a good QB prospect, even if Keenum continues to improve. By and large the QB position separates the haves and have-nots in this league--and what makes teams perennial contenders or one-hit wonders.

Damn, where'd this guy come from? Dude is fast and elusive as fuck!
Can throw a laser pass or a jump ball accurately.
He can take a hit too. I though he's gonna go out with concussion symptoms after a hit from an unblocked linebacker yesterday.

Undrafted out of university of Houston. The line was god awful yesterday which is why I want the coaching staff and GM gone. He had no time to throw but managed not throw throw a pick 6 like Schaub. Im not sure we will know if he is the answer until he has a solid line ans coaching staff who can actually make adjustments against the blitz.

He's the reason why the Texans season isn't a complete waste, much like TB's…If Glennon and Keenum continue to improve, they could be sophomore studs next year w/ some experience under their belts. If they regress in the last half of the season, then both teams are bad enough to have good picks at the litter of the QB crop anyway. As of right now I expect both teams to be competitors for playoff spots next year

Durability is question mark for Keenum. He rarely if ever took real big hits at UH but he missed time for a concussion after running into his own man during the chaos after throwing a pick and then blew out a knee trying to make a tackle after throwing a pick. So I'm thrilled he hasn't thrown any yet. The biggest problem with so many parts of the team being so damn inconsistent is that he could well play out the rest of the season without getting a chance to be tested in a critical way that Schaub failed: when the team puts him in a position to win and he does.
