Yep, probably Curry will not play on Friday and if the Spurs win, it was all luck ...

Actually, our record is tied with 2 other West teams, yet our point differential is significantly smaller.

Better divisional and conference record though, which is why the Spurs are #1.

Got to gun for the best record. Game 7 in Miami is a concern.

Don't you wonder how many fans of other teams would give their left nut for having the 'problem' you describe?

Haven't even played an eastern conference team yet lol

Not saying much when the no.8 Dallas is only one game behind at 3-2

Miami is not going to make the Finals this season.

Spurs are still far from being the best in the West. we beat the D-Fenders, the worst Nuggets since 2003 and some guys with Suns shirts. stronger opponents and we look at 2-3 or 1-4. still a long road back to contender form.

too many close games though. and pops constant lineup tinkering is getting annoying.

We need to see who deserves minutes in crunch time.

Not until we streghten up our deferense and Kawhi find his grove, I won't consider Spurs best in the West.

Obviously, it is too early yet to make any concrete determinations.
And the new guys have to still get acclimated with their new teammates and vice versa, as well as get comfortable with the Spurs system.
Just way too early IMHO.

what's the magic number to clinch the #1 seed? Is it too early for that?

it's an ugly 4-1 though and so I guess it's a positive that we are at 4-1 despite not playing anywhere near to our best ball as of yet.

Spurs are just coasting out there, but it would be nice to blow someone out for a change. I'm hoping the Spurs finish with the best record overall, so we don't have to worry about starting a post season series on the road.

being the #1 is secondary to being healthy enough to make noise for the playoffs. as long as we don't fall to say the 4th seed, we shouldn't pay attention to seeding.

We haven't really played a good playoff team yet...

:lol 75% of the Spurs fans on this forum are blind cliff-jumpers that quit on the Spurs last season, while overrating pretenders like the Warriors/Nuggets/Grizzlies, tbh..this season won't be any different IMO..

The blind homers were annoying from 2008 to 2011, when it was evident that the Spurs were retooling and there was a powerhouse Lakers team that stood in the way, tbh..the past 2 seasons has transitioned into the blind cliff jumpers being annoying by overrating a conference that doesn't have any powerhouse teams since OKC traded Harden..

The regular season is mostly irrelevant, especially until March, but I'm sure Spurs fans will be overrating pretenders like Golden State and LA all year, tbh..

This.

yup. Although I agree the rest of the west is very shitty and very vulnerable. Spurs without Parker are really not much better than any of those teams.

sure we have a better coach and Duncan(who is pushing 40) but really when you really analyze, the only difference is we have Parker and they don't.

Oh, Gee!!
11-07-2013, 02:06 PM
still very early to worry about record and/or rank. just play good minutes and stay healty, the rest will take care of itself in due course

Spurs ususally win ugly throughout the year, beating teams shorthanded or playing down to the competition and barely winning the game.

good winter it was, I m back in Brazil, summer is starting

well usually when you start a game thread, a spurs player break his leg... maybe this time bad luck will be for opponents :lol

I have a feeling we'll be #1 in the West until Tim retires.

I like our chances this year. We brought back almost everyone from a team that was 1 rebound from a championship, and we refined the rotation even more while cutting off dead weight (Neal and Blair). If Mills continues to be a solid backup PG and the big man rotation remains sustainable, we're the best team in the NBA. :tu

I live near Sao P in a "small" city of 1,5 M: Campinas, arrived in 2005, spent two years in US back since February this year

happy to see an american actually travelling in countries not named Mexico or Canada tbh

Brazil has been a favorite of mine for a long time.
Btw, would not have slammed you had you not slammed me first in that other thread.
No hard feelings.

If I am not mistaken, Brazil has either the largest or the second largest water falls in the world.

The one in Africa at Lake Victoria may be larger. Niagara is third largest.

I became fascinated with Brazil because of the architecture in Brasilia when I worked for Dad who is a retired architect and city planner. Then when I found out Brazil was the 5th largest country in the world, everything snowballed from there.
I finally went there and saw it for myself.

Parker and Diaw are the two Spurs that are playing very well right now; other are just rusty. This could be due to the summer competition which Parker and Diaw participated that carried over thier momentum this early season. Let's give our guys some time shake off the rust...

It would be more of a shock if we DIDNT get 50 wins with some guy called Tim Duncan in our lineup.
