Atlanta??? So he won't be known as the human cigar ever again. I suggest the human fishing pole as his new nickname.

That's very interesting. Most people thought that Darko would get more playing time now that LB is gone. But it seems they are actually trying to trade him. Pretty ironic.

Maybe Dumars' agreeing to get rid of Darko was Flip's signing bonus. :hat

Wedged between LeBron, Melo, Wade, Bosh and Hinrich Darko has a shot at worst pick of all times.

Kori, I still say Darko's a Center...He's just not a very good Center.

exagerating a little? Melo is no Jordan, not even close.

Well, as hard as this is for me to admit, let me clarify this situation for the Champ fans

It has been clarified here on the local radio (via Joe Dumars) that the Pistons werent the ones to initiate this talk. It was Atlanta.

They want Darko for Harrington straight up. What did Joe D do?

Flat-out told them "no-friggin-way".

Do I agree with it? Nope. Does that matter? Not one iota.

In Joe-mars We Trust.

Dumars has a nice chunk of reputation riding on The Cigar. As I recall the impending coach, Brown, wanted the Pistons to go after Melo and Dumars said no way, Darko was his boy.

.......Agreed. But one question: Do you think he will choose LA over the Knicks when his contract is up?

We should all thank God the Pistons did not pick Melo....they would have just been that much better with another weapon to use.

Thank God they didn't pick Wade. Think about the Spurs facing a 1-2 rotation of Wade, Billups and Hamilton in the finals.

Sorry boss, but the results are in and you are no longer the Champs. It's ok, I'd be delusional too if I just watched the tiny sliver of championship light disappear in a sea of silver and black, but don't worry I hear you guys just hired Flip and he is absolute gold in the playoffs.

If Dumars didn't have a reputation riding on Darko, he would've jumped at this trade. Expiring contract for Harrington, too. Bolsters their bench.

Maybe Flip thinks he can do something with Milicic, the numbnuts.

Dumars is not trading this kid. He still has faith in him...as he should.

Unfortunatly he got stuck on a Larry Brown team. LB doesn't play Euro players or Rooks...or anyone he just doesn't seem to like.

Hopefully, he'll actually get some minutes this year. Hopefully Flip allows him to play more to his style as opposed to LB's under the basket designs for him.

Here's a little comparisn Between Darko and other first round picks. Too many people are ready to write him off. He hasn't played enough for any conclusions to be made. He almost played as much in 5 games during the Summer League (149 minutes) as he's averaged for the last 2 seasons (206 minutes per year). The kid just needs minutes.

The sad thing for Darko is that I saw the human cigar title and instantly knew the thread was about him.

Why not acquired him? Heīs young (19-20 years old)... he can become the next Nowitski (big man and good shooter) with a good shooting coach... and coached by Pop can improve his defensive skills...

C-Mon the kid could be a real monster, but must play. If even Devin Brown is a key player why canīt Darko?

I was always worried about Darko's confidence; it must be terrible to be rookie in Larry Brown's hands.

Imagine Darko's life: You are teenager, you got the skills, you got the mind, you were selected #2 and then ... "well... this is a chear, please seat and keep watching, watching, watching ...you'll develop your game in this way".

Why don't Pistons send him to Europe? or send him to NBA Development League or whatever.

Darko will need time to recover his game, but .. what about his mind???
Would Melo or Lebron ever played with Larry Brown??
What would happen with their confidence in that case?

I predict that Isaiah Thomas will trade Malik Rose and a #1 draft choice for Darko to reunite him with his old coach and mentor, Larry Brown. :drunk :smokin

Remember you heard it here first. :elephant
