Remember after the SB when certain people (like ME) said he blew his chance and NFL DC's just needed some game film to expose his gimmick pistol plays? Not even I thought he would go downhill THIS fast. He's sucked this year.Not gonna blame Alex Smith b/c he'snothing special either. Kraep is just a middle of the road QB and will never be anything more than that.

It is really easy to see what's going on with the spread/pistol offenses--have a stout front 7 and make the QB read off the first checkdown. I mean, Stanford did it to Oregon and you can see it happening to the spread teams in the NFL. As DD said: Give the DC time to adjust and have a full off-season to prepare, you'll be fine if you got the defense to combat it. That is, unless you're Monte Kiffin then it doesn't matter...

Disagree. Saints offense has struggled mostly on the road whether against bad defenses or solid defenses outside of the Bears game. Saints haven't really played a great defense and I don't consider the Jets a good or a great defense. At home, the Saints offense has been lights out. The Niners defense will be the best defense they've played at home.

Yeah, he built his reputation off...something. Capers got a free ride for an opportunistic defense and great personnel in the 2010 SB run and promptly got exposed the following year with only a couple of key injuries (dead last in the league in D). Now I'm convinced he just makes guttural noises in his headset when the D is on the field.

just watch the game sunday man. like i said, i don't acknowledge cam to be elite. i think he's had a great season and people that can't acknowledge that really just don't know football or already have a bias against him to not recognize it.

For starters, Davis and Crabtree will both be on the field this game. Davis was taken out of the last meeting, and obviously Crabtree was injured. So, they aren't so one dimensional. Kaep by far has the better offensive weapons and it isn't even close. So to me, the Niners are the favorites because the defenses are pretty much a push. If Cam pulls this off, much props to him. I have the Niners winning this game.

Not sure about this game. Carolina didn't look that great to end the season. Blowout loss at New Orleans, struggled in a home win against the Jets, struggled offensively in a home win against the Saints, and barely won at Atlanta to end the season. Now, the 49ers haven't been that impressive either so it should be a close game, but I see Kaep struggling miserably against that front 7. They will keep him in the pocket which hurts the Niners offense tremendously while slowing down Gore. I think Cam is better, but he has less weapons in the passing game. Still, I think the Panthers win a close won at home since Cam will outplay Kaep.
