View Full Version : Games the Cowboys should've won since 2011

Doing this from Garrett's first full season as HC--as he still hasn't surpassed his interim performance in 2010. For those who are familiar with the sitcom, feel free to fill in any details or gaps that I've missed.

2011:

1. The opener at the Jets: Dear God. How did this one happen? From Romo's stupid scramble, to a blocked punt, to one of the worst INT's I've ever seen (to Revis), this game was special.
2. Vs Lions: LOL. Up 27-3, Romo spearheads the Lions comeback with 2 pick-sixes, then ices the game with a 3rd int.
3. @NE: Kubiak-like play calling killed them at the end, but hard to fault too much that after the Lions game.
4. Cardinal: another moment of neutered play calling. Pretty sure this was the game where he iced his own kicker, but I may be mistaken.
5. vs NYG: up 12 with 3-4 minutes left, the defense collapses and Romo misses a wide-open Austin to seal the same.

2012:

1. @Baltimore: They had out gained the Ravens by quite a large margin but mistakes put them behind the 8-ball early. Nevertheless, they made an improbable comeback, got the Onsides, then shanked the winning fg.
2. vs Saints: Inexcusable home loss to a team playing for pride, while you're fighting for your playoff lives.
3. Redskins: Win and get in. They lost, and Romo sealed it with a pick.

2013:

1. @KC: Thoroughly outplayed the Chiefs, but lost 17-16.
2. @SD: 21-10 lead in the 2nd quarter--got blanked the rest of the game.
3. DEN: Ok, maybe it's unfair to include this game, but they were in a position to win and lost.
4. DET: Yeah……….

The Bills suck, I know…but the above is pretty mind-boggling

Common Denominator: Tony Romo

or Garrett, or Jerry Jones. Romo's a loser and a statwhore, but he's good enough to garner a few Falcon-like paper tiger seasons--and there's really no better option out there for them right now.

JJ. He's great at making money and appearing on TV shows. GM, not so much.

how do cowboys fans talk about how great their team/roster is then say JJ isn't a good gm

I do think JJ gets graded a little harshly for the talent he's acquired--it's an immensely talented team--but he fails miserably by hiring Yes-men and putting them in leadership positions.

Actually the kicker made the game winning FG but that moron Garret called a TO and he missed the second one. I'd also like to add they should have been able to move him up by 5 yards but Romo missed the throw. And the kick was good from 46, just hooked right at the end.

The Saints game didn't mean shit, because the Skins had already won, the next week was a must win regardless.

Cowboys need to blow it up, starting with ownership. Fans need to riot tbh.

The Redskins list is longer, but there's only a handful of Skins fans on this site and they're all regarded as faggots anyway, tbh

You're a Cowboys fan who was seduced by a mandingo...you'll find your wayward path once he's out of the league in 3 years

As long we haslett coaches, it's over.

I wish we would just make kerakpo down lineman in a 4-3. Everyone knows they can't cover anyways

That was one of my favorite games. I couldn't stop laughing throughout that whole segment. Bless you Gayson for that moment. Bless your little heart.

very definition of choke artist. has there ever been a bigger list of chokes over such a short period of time?

the time _allas did have success recently was during parcells' tenure and the year after where wade phillips basically switzered his way to the playoffs. until jerry jones decides to stop meddling with the gm aspect of the team, or until jerry actually dies, will we have a shot at a title again. i vote the latter.

If you meant the Ravens game, that's not what happened. The Cowboys got down to the Baltimore 34 with one timeout and about 20 seconds left, but it took so long for them to get lined up (Bryant was arguing with an official) that they had to burn the TO with six seconds left. Then Bailey shanked the kick.

I still have that game. I remember feeling like crap because I thought the Ravens were going to lose. Then the Cowboys messed up the clock. Easily one of the most deflating losses to my Cowboys-fan friends.

As a Cowboy fan there is no such thing as a deflated loss. No more air left in the tank

tbh I thought so too, but i think that's it. I would actually take the Saints game off there because I think the Saints had a tiny shot at the playoffs and didn't actually know they were out of it until later that day. Knowing that the Saints had a slight glimmer of hope to play for, it was pretty likely they'd beat the Cowboys

Cowboys being dead last in total defense doesn't help.
