View Full Version : Leonard has piss poor chemistry with Tiago Splitter and the other bigs.

Four drives where he could have asked for a pick for a clean drive but decides to force it..He can't wait for pop to make calls for him, he needs to step up IMO

He'll be fine. Still early & he's defending and rebounding well as usual. Offense will come for him. Duncan has been off offensively too, it's still very early in the season. Parker notoriously struggled offensively early on in the season the past few years, and got better around December/January. This year is different cause he is still in very good basketball shape from the lengthy playoff run & playing with he FNT.

He's learning. Tony didn't find other people in the lane until like 2006.

Look what he's doing now in the 3rd. Got a couple to fall, now he's shooting the ball with tremendous confidence. These things take time, like I said he'll be fine lol.

Im getting a bit concerned, really wonder if he even be a third banana offensively...

He's taking the second most shots in the team tbh..So yeah pretty sure he can take whatever shots he wants.

The problem is I've seen him ill contested shots cause he couldn't bother to ask for a play. Instead goes one on one..

kawhi just had a nice play called for him in the post. sucked in the defense did a nice spin move and found patty wide open in the corner for the 3.

It's a good things fans don't run the team then, I guess.

It's like a thousand Jerry Jones trying to run the team.

yeah that's my point. He getting play calls, but when he's not, he either forces things or just deffers.

maybe because we have shit for bigs that can't catch a pass, dunk or do anything positive offensively :rolleyes

This is the first year he gets to call his own number. Give it time. He'll figure out when to push and when to dish.

He's not a guard. He's a pretty good play maker from the post. He probably won't have much chemistry with the bigs so long as he tries to do guard things with them.

Stop complaining about these "ill contested" shots - he's hit nearly 60% of his 2's on the season, so it's not like he's chucking.

The passing will develop with time. 19.5 / 8.5 / 2 steals on a per 36 basis is exactly what we expected from him.

And because this guy :pop: has been too lazy to draw more plays for him other than 1 post up play :td

After Leonard hit those two or three jumpers in a row and the Sixers called a timeout, Pop went to Kawhi in the huddle, put his hands around his shoulders and told him something in his ear... have no clue what it was, but Pop was pretty happy.

Leonard had a weak first half, in the 3rd qtr he played better.

Yeah...If Buddy Kareem's right, the guy is retard 'cause he missed free throw to seal a championship. Ginobili, too.
But I think Manu/Kawhi neither of them is a retard, maybe you look like one.

I dont know if it is a chemistry thing or not.
What Im sure, at least Im seeing it, is that Kawhi is not playing like we thought he could (can?).
Early in the season...but im a little concerned, either Pop hasnt figured out how to use him or he is not that good.
On the other hand, if he continues to score with that jumper in traffic that I dont like...well...what do fans know!

I saw Duncan move up to set a pick and he avoided it. I don't think he is comfortable with the pnr running it. He just needs to put his big boy pants on and try.

Leonard's not gonna be 20+ a game guy in this team but could be.

"Without their Big 3, Kawhi Leonard took the lead and scored 26 points (Career-High) on 11-18 shooting"

Fans thought he'd be much more aggressive this year. Granted, but Kawhi receives the ball only 8 or 9 times in the latest games (and not call for him within the offense). It's hard to increase his offensive presence with those plays numbers.

It bothers me to hear such frequent reference to the guy is non-compliance with expectations, unsatisfactory performance, KL fraud, as if they'd rather he go to a team that makes him the focus than stay in San Antonio.

Agree. I don't see him run pnr, this is a work in progress. But his fast break, mid-range jump, post moves, and penetration and pass, are working.

He's just a cog on the wheel for now, a very talented cog but as he gets older and is put into the offense more he'll develop into a more confident player who wants to take the reins

Ridiculous amount of judgement about a young player. The last bright 19 yo prospect we brought in was almost shipped out after his second year. Parker has since made a number of ASG appearances and three All NBA selections. You can't really tell who a player is after two seasons, especially surrounded by vets.

yeah and only him and another player have been allowed to run ISO plays in 10 years...
