A seventh-grader in Texas claims his teacher punched him in the face and knocked him out for seemingly no reason.
"The last person's voice I heard was some girl saying that I should call my mom, and then he like hit me... And I blacked out," 12-year-old Reginald Wells told Beaumont TV station KBMT.
Reginald said he had cracked a joke about the teacher's favorite football team while chatting in a hallway at Willie Ray Smith Middle School on Friday.
The teacher hit Reginald in the shoulder, Reginald pushed the teacher back and that's when he claims the teacher blindsided him with a punch to the face that knocked him out.
He woke up a few seconds later. He said his head hurt and felt like it "had been shaken."
The teacher was fired and escorted off the premises.
Before he left, he told Reginald he had been having a bad day and "just snapped," according to KBMT.
His mother has filed a police report and wants to press charges.
"For you to just let a teacher do that to him and just walk off? He's fired and walks off? I can't accept that," Adrianne Wells told KBMT.
