EL SEGUNDO - Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Nash was examined today by back specialist Dr. Robert Watkins, who diagnosed Nash as having nerve root irritation. Treatment will include an epidural block, which Nash is expected to receive tomorrow, and Nash is expected to be out of action for a minimum of two weeks. He will be re-evaluated in approximately ten days, and an update will be given at that time.

Well, that sucks.

Michael Jordan.

Nash getting his Kobe on early. They all retired early last season as well when the outcome was obvious.

$9 million/yr back massages :lol

Technically, those baseline back rubs will run the Lakers $9.3m this year and $9.7m next year. Happy ending not included.

Lakers instantly got better. Nash barely being able to run kills the team on offense, he's getting paid 9 mil a year to be a detrimental, Lakers would be better off trading him to Toronto(where he could help Casey tank).

Lakerfans are hoping that his health would be bad enough that the doctors would force him to retire, kinda sad, tbh.

Marc Stein on Nash (http://espn.go.com/blog/marc-stein/post/_/id/217/why-steve-nash-wont-let-setback-stop-him)

I didn't realize that the nerve damage was as extensive and recurring. That really sucks.
