Experts Reshape Treatment Guide For Cholesterol
The nation’s leading heart organizations released new guidelines on Tuesday that will fundamentally reshape the use of cholesterol-lowering statin medicines, which are now prescribed for a quarter of Americans over 40. (NOT ENOUGH! :lol)

Bottom line: The new guidelines are a marked departure from the era of chasing targets and being agnostic to the drugs you used. The new message is don’t chase targets, know your risk, and — if you need drug therapy — use statins. :lol

don't sweat your cholesterol numbers, ignore all the nasty side effects of long-term use, JUST KEEP POPPING OUR PILLS. (5 mg, the minimum size, of one main brand is $300/month). I got prescribed that after a heart checkup that showed a thoracic calcium score of "1" (almost a perfect zero), all valves working great, carotids all clear except for a tiny bit of plaque in one tine place in one carotid. So I'm supposed to spend $300/month for ever? I refused.
