This is a pet peeve of mine, but I hate how people keep reporting cap hits instead of base salaries. In Suggs' case some Ravens fans are like, "He's not worth the $14 Million cap hit." But seeing as more than half of that hit is dead money, it's not like the team can save that much by cutting him. If Suggs is worth his $6 Million base salary, he's worth his whole cap hit. Sunk cost and all that.

In Ben's case, this is even more true, since almost all of his cap number is bonus proration and he has another year worth of proration for 2015. Trading him before next June would be personnel move, not a financial one. That's why it's likely he stays put at least another year.
