I think the last failure that took this amount of time to develop was Deus Ex. The only difference is that game has a cult following who swear by it. Longtime Live fans won't even play this shit. The only sales will be from misinformed parents who buy the wrong basketball game for Christmas, but I'm sure there are gonna be a lot of people asking for the gift receipt tbh.

I want a game where Howard cannot hit a fucking FT to save his life, and where Kobe refuses to pass the ball to his teammates, even if you push the button to pass. I want fights in the game, to see Ron Artest knock Jeremy Lin's teeth out, see the ensuing carnage, the suspensions, that shit. Fuck a alley oop. I want to be able to put a hit out on a motherfucker like Lebron, have some scrub clothesline his ass on the fast break, get the suspension, whatever, just sweep the leg or something. Shit like that needs to happen.

I agree thats the most important part, but I just noticed since I was there since the beginning of the Nintendo days that audiences were always retarded. I couldnt wait till the day you had a real life audience especially because it seems easy to design. For some reason, to save memory, they always go light on the work they put into the audience.

gotta give Stern/owners credit, i've read EA tried to do that shit with them as they've done with NFL and NBA didn't bite. Maybe they didn't offer enough, maybe they saw how crappy their Madden product is and how it killed off NFL 2k series. fuck EA.

not a hockey fan but I did play a lot of those 90s EA series with my brother. I loved the Maddens where the ambulance ran over the players. At some point though Trip Hawkins sold the company and they became the generic monster we have today.

That's what I'm saying. It doesnt make sense, I remember reading once about how making a crowd is the hardest part in sports games as it requires too much memory and takes away from features. At this point, with the level of technology, its just pure laziness to not be able to create an awesome crowd. One with AI instead of the generic dumb fuck reactions.

Honestly, a ton of these NBA and NFL games have retarded features that are a waste of time anyway.

TV Sports Basketball on the old Amiga had crowds that would react to runs; when the home team goes on 10-0 run, the crowd gets loud .... but when the road team builds a big lead, the home team gets booed

Yes, its freaking incredible. Its one of the most detailed games I've ever seen. I haven't really played previous 2k games, but the level of detail for the players, like tattoos, facial expressions, etc is amazing. The crowd feels like a real crowd, the announcers are real and dead on calling the game. Real voices for the players/coaches they interview, just a insane amount of work that went into it. Its currently my favorite PS4 game. Its no wonder that its sold out on many online stores.

Yup, an amazing amazing game. Weird how some features got taken away, but the graphics and the fluidity of the game are a real joy. I would say it's the bench launch title of the next gen systems.

Fifa next gen is also a big improvement over current gen.
