Dentmon was a long-time Austin Toro and briefly a Spur. Congrats Justin.

We still have his rights??

No, we never had his rights. He wasn't a draft pick. Besides, we've already signed and cut him.

Which is more impressive:

D league or Euro league MVP?

I think so. How much continuity does a D-league team have with all the turnover that goes through a roster in one season.

How about this: how often does a player come out of the D-League and become a stud player in the NBA? Now how often does a Euroleague player come out of that league and become a stud player?

Um yeah, Euroleague is better.

Good for Justin. Nice assist number.

I always liked the way he played when I saw Toros games although that was a small sample. Considering our backup PG problem, I never thought he got the same chance as Joseph to properly demonstrate his skills when he was briefly brought up to the Spurs.

Does anyone have any insight on why he was judged worse than Joseph as a backup? Speed? Shooting? Defense? Was it just to justify the drafting selection of Joseph?

Happens to a lot of undersized SGs. Many have long, successful careers in Europe.

The Spurs seem to be looking for two types of backup point guards, one that emulates Parker to some extent and one that is more of a pass-first, system and defense player like Vaughan. Looks like they got them both on the roster currently.

MVP honors again this year for Justin Dentmon in round 6 of the top 16

"For the second time this season, Justin Dentmon earned bwin MVP honors for the week after leading Zalgiris Kaunas to its first Top 16 victory over Partizan NIS Belgrade on Thursday. Dentmon turned in one of the best games of his fantastic debut Turkish Airlines Euroleague campaign with a performance index rating of 33 to lead all players in Top 16 Round 6. Dentmon produced 23 points on 2-for-2 two-point and 5-of-10 three-point shooting plus 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, 1 block (check it out on this week’s top 10 plays!) and 8 fouls drawn. Those numbers were clearly worthy of being the Top 16 Round 6 bwin MVP. The runners-up for the week were Nenad Krstic of CSKA Moscow and Sergio Rodriguez of Real Madrid..."

Dentmon has the 10th best PIR in the league at 16.6. In comparison, right behind him Andreas Nocioni has a 16.3 and Rudy Fernandez is at number 6 with PIR of 17.4

I never liked his game tbh and couldn't wait for him to leave the Toros at the time so we could develop real prospects but good for him...

Undersized, unathletic guard thriving in a league where Spanoulis is treated like Jordan. Not that impressed but good for him.
