Any thoughts?
Lakaluva came up with Jim if I'm not mistaken. Kirby was a response to that, but I'm not sure who came up with that exactly.

It's immature I don't see how anyone could be amused by that. Don't think I got amused by silly nick names like that past my 8th birthday.

Jim is pretty stupid. I can't take anyone seriously who uses it. Kirby is some what funny.

Jim is not a good nickname. Kirby is mainly because it's a funny sounding word. When you say it, you laugh because you think of some goofy person who is probably named Kirby or the Nintendo game character.

I like Jim, but I like more Kirby and of course DWERT

Usually when someone on here uses Jim as a nickname for Duncan, it's mainly about his alleged bisexualness and his male best friend and part time lover.

As far as I can tell, first mention of Kirby back here:

I dont care if duncan is gay, I admire his playing not the people who sleeps with him, besides we call kirby kobe and dwert dwight, so Jim is some cross we have to bare, I can deal with it

Somehow, Jerry Buss was a genius for aptly naming his son Jim, tbh.

supposed to mean something like he's so boring/bland/unremarkable that you'd confuse his name with an everyman like Jim

Jim is funnier simply because spurfans get so butthurt over it, while none of the lakerfans give the slightest response to Kirby.

Exactly. Jim came about by accident. I started a thread a few years back and spelled Dunan for Duncan and all these apes shit themselves over it. So I tested the waters with Jim for Tim and after while they began firing back with Kirby. They're like my very own test monkeys.:lol

The name Kirby originated from chinks' pronunciation of the name Kobe imho, which had a long history. while the name Jim or Tammy only came into existence after Duncan's sexual orientation went public.

Plus Larry Brown kept him glued to the bench while allowing cancers like AI and Marbury to chuck to their hearts' content, plus Spurfan gets all butthurt whenever anyone mentions Duncan's involvement in that bronze medal :lol

I assume it's the latter. Kirby's signature move was sucking in the skill set of his opponents thus gaining their abilities, which was why he often dressed like Mario/Link. So..... basically what Kobe made his career off of
