Luke has a habit of this, see the Bills game earlier this year. Was it a catchable ball? Probably not. It likely would've still been intercepted. Who am I to say though? He could've made a half ass attempt at it. But, Cam finally came through in a big game, down the stretch against a quality opponent. Props there. Vereen looks good, I'm glad I have him in fantasy. He and Moreno should have nice games next week, especially for PPR leagues tbh. I'm starting them both.

rofl acting like a missed holding call is in the same ballpark. There's blatant holding on every play in the NFL so if you want to play that game you're going down a very slippery slope. There generally isn't blatant pass interference where the flag is thrown and then picked up in most NFL games so try a little harder, doggie.

The latter was definitely more significant. The Saints would have won the game regardless of that penalty. They had 3+ minutes left in the game and Saints had all 3 of their timeouts, and the 49ers had 0 first downs in the 4th Quarter. With Kaep under center, the Saints would have easily stopped the 49ers for a 3 and out, got the ball back, and the way Brees was carving up that 49ers defense all game, they would have drove down and scored anyway.

That missed holding call was one of a quite few aggrecious calls that game, but the Saints still deserved to lose that one. They should have put the Pats away sooner.

I'm not vigorously defending them. I didn't think it was a good call when I saw the replay, but the last two days mostly everyone on TV and radio from former officials to former GMs etc. have been saying the call was correct according to the rules since he did end up hitting him in the neck after he first him in the chest. Is it a bad rule? Probably, but according to the rules, it was the correct call.

I don't think that should've been a penalty but in the world of protecting the players, it was going to be called no matter what side of the issue you reside. The bigger issue for the 49ers is that boneheaded play by Kassim Osgood on that punt. It almost deflated the SF defense and you knew that Brees was going to drive them down for Hartley to make that kick. To me, that was the one they should've stayed away from...
