I never noticed it until the Sunday Night game against Kansas City.

Yeah, he's a beast. Pin point, and quick. Plus, they run a lot of rub routes as well. If done right, a guy is open every time. I personally don't like it, it's the equivalent of a moving pick in basketball imo. But, everyone can do it, so it's all good. Plus, he has no problem with dumping it to Moreno 8 or 9 times if he has to if the deep ball isn't there. Smart as a whip, and has a lot of tools to work with. He may have the best foursome in the league, Thomas/Welker/Decker/O.J. With those weapons it's a lot easier to get the ball out so fast because the trust is there when the talent is.

Even in Indy his tackles weren't that great (though not as bad as the Broncos situation now), so it was sink or swim and he's adapted pretty damn well. He also does a decent job moving within the pocket to by an extra half second. Those instances where he has time and room to step up, it's over.

Bradys ability to to get rid of the ball quick is also underrated. But we always remember those few plays a game where he seems to have 10+ seconds and is just sitting in the pocket, bouncing around ferdayz

Manning, Brady, and Rodgers have quick releases...probably the best in the league. However, you see what the Chiefs couldn't do and what the Colts did was be disruptive with the gap blitzes and hurried Peyton into more unsteady decisions. That's how you beat him and has been the recipe throughout his illustrious career. What he did against KC was masterful and that o-line played better than it had been in previous weeks. It's going to be hard to beat the Broncos this year if Manning keeps being flexible.

I know as of oct 19th Stafford was the fastest in the league at 2.21 seconds. Can't find stats on quickest release since though. Need to subscribe to profootballfocus.com to get them. Just wish his accuracy was a little bit better.

lol ya. Stafford is an above average qb. Still has quite a ways to go though to be considered elite imo. but he is still very young. only 25. and CJ just turned 28 in september. Those two are going to break a lot of records in the coming years. Hopefully it comes with a lot of wins as well.

It amazes me he only has 1 SB ring. Honestly, the guy is a God as a QB. I did notice he kind of dissapeared mentally in the playoffs last year though.

I mean no disrespect partner but when its the Colts and Patriots decade, one would buy into the idea that Peyton would win more than one. It says a lot about him to only win one in an era dominated by him and the cHeatriots. I watched him year after year choke countless times with the lone exception of that year when we had a relatively easy path to a Superbowl ring. As an unbiased observer, Peyton is a rich man's version of Tony Romo. I remember a dear good ole friend of mine from Mississippi talking shit that Eli would be the better Manning. God was he right. Props to you if you're reading partner.

Honestly,
I hope you're wrong but I completely saw a mental breakdown of Peyton last season during the playoffs. To be fair, EVERY FUCKING THING went against us in that game. The moment we lost Knowshawn Moreno I knew it was over, even being up a few scores. We had already lost our starting RB and to lose Moreno, that was too much for a guy like Peyton to handle.

The calls were atrocious, it was criminal honestly. Every fucking call was against the Broncos. But overall, the Manning in the playoffs kind of reminds me of a nervous and aged Mike Tyson who would mentally break down after the 5th round in a fight.

Eli is not better than Peyton, seriously he was wrong... He had a few breaks during that run he had, not saying he was not good but the two title runs he had Eli was getting some lucky bounces too. If Peyton wins this year how was Eli the better Manning? I would not even call it close, infact Eli is nowhere near Peyton if that happens, period.

crazy to think Peyton is underrated but apparently he is. he's had some choking moments, he's also had some great playoff games. There are also some where he dragged some shitty teams into the playoffs, played well enough and the team still collapsed. His playoff stats aren't much different than Brady, except Brady always had a much better coached team with him. I don't think anyone is going to put Dungy, Caldwell:lol or Fox in the same conversation as Belichick.

Gotta agree with Sean Cagney, just no way I would ever put Eli above Peyton. Eli might be more clutch, but he's also had some underwhelming playoff games that are conveniently forgotten. I think if Eli and Peyton swapped teams, Peyton would do very well with Coughlin.

I don't understand how someone so great has so many choke jobs under his belt? Psychologically that is. I would understand losing a shootout to Brady/Brees/Rodgers occasionally but he has way too many losses to shitty quarterbacks under his belt. Not to mention his numbers in general decline.

I feel like if I were the baddest QB on the planet and I was playing against Mark Sanchez I'd just gladly stick my dick down his throat just like everybody else I beat in the 'regular season'. I just don't understand how all of a sudden that all goes away when it's a 'playoff game'.

I am NOT talking about quick release but the time he snaps the ball, processes what is in front of him and gets rid of the ball.

Anyone saying Manning is underrated is full of shit. Everybody knows exactly how rated he is because you just have to look at the 2011 Colts and Broncos teams which both didn't have him. The Colts won two games, probably only because they had to play Tennessee (apparently the team you want to play if you're winless, e.g. 2013 Jaguars) and Houston at home (Texans can't win in Indy even if you spot them the lead and put Manning on IR). They won two games. The previous year's team, essentially the same squad plus Manning, had a shitstorm of injuries at critical positions and still went 10-6 to win the division.

The 2011 Broncos went 8-8 and played Tebow just about the right amount of time to not have a losing record. But the difference between the 2013 Broncos and 2011 Broncos has little to do with the talent of the team changing between then and now and a lot more about the talent between Manning and Tebow being about 9,001 miles wide. And even though he played on teams that had Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark all playing on the field at the same time, the 2013 Broncos are the deepest team Manning has played on as far as receiving threats go. And even with the injuries, their offensive line is so good. I still say Manning going to Denver had everything to do with their offensive line.

At this point it's impossible to overrate or underrate Manning. You're going to get a QB who will make the team a hell of a lot better than they were with the previous guy, but he absolutely can't win you a Super Bowl by himself. If Manning gets another Super Bowl, his teammates are going to have to do it for him. The one Super Bowl he does have he played like garbage the entire playoffs except one really good second half against the Patriots, threw more picks than TDs and was bailed out by his defense constantly. And I said that about him when he was still on the Colts.

in 2010, that Colts team which had a ton of injuries and was 4th in offense, 23rd in defense, played the Jets. Manning had a better overall game than Sanchez, put their team up to win it yet the Colts D gave it away at the end. Jets barely win 17-16.
The next week, Jets take on the patriots who are number 1 in offense, 8 in defense, a much better overall team than the Colts, yet they still lose to Sanchez. Shit happens.

Yeah, but no team in 2011 "lost to Mark Sanchez" much in the same way no team that faced the 2000 Ravens "lost to Trent Dilfer". He did complete some passes to get Nick Folk that easy FG against the Colts, but they basically had the ball at midfield after all-time Colts first round draft bust Jerry Hughes kind of just did nothing to stop Antonio Cromartie and waited for the kick return to be over, and then Jim Caldwell called the dumbest timeout since Chris Weber at Michigan. You will see that Mark Sanchez completed some passes in the last minute of that game. That is not why the Jets won.

I remember that timeout. There was a classic WTF shot of Peyton on the sidelines:lol. how exactly did Caldwell get that job? was it Manning lobbying for him, or did Irsay and Polian want a Dungy clone? anyone who can take a Caldwell coached team to the playoffs belongs in Canton.

Caldwell got the job because people respect Tony Dungy and Dungy said Caldwell would be a good coach, which Dungy probably only said because Caldwell is black. And he was Manning's QB coach for 6 years, which probably made him seem like a good coach except for the fact that a duck could coach Manning and look good doing it.

He did win a Super Bowl last year as Baltimore's OC with Flacco at QB so who really knows if Jim Caldwell is good or not.

tbh it sounds like Dungy was about as good at evaluating head coaching ability as he was at raising a son.

His son was probably gay and just couldn't cope with coming out to his super Christian family. Think about it. Growing up in NFL locker rooms, probably saw a lot of random dick. Maybe even started to like it a little bit. Or maybe some position coach went all Sandusky on him. Tried to tell his pops and ol' Tony was like, "Come on, son! That's crazy talk! Not Howard Mudd! He goes to our church!" And if Tony Dungy won't take your word for it, no one will. Only one way out at that point: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+to+tie+a+noose

I guess the moral of the story is Tony Dungy's as good at parenting as Bill Belichick is at keeping a lid on a practice-taping scheme that went so deep the NFL had to burn the tapes.

He got the NFL to burn the tapes and only had to give up a 1st round pick for what apparently was a giant conspiracy that got them 3 superbowls. I'd say Belichick did a pretty good job at managing spygate given how much people whine about how much harsher their punishment should have been.

The NFL only burned the tapes because what they saw was probably the equivalent of like an FBI agent moonlighting as a serial killer. Bureau couldn't let the evidence see the light of day or their credibility and reputation would be shot to shit. Same thing for the NFL.
