I love love LOVE Kawhi on the Spurs but GOT DAMN I just keep imagining that the trade never happened and Indiana has a nucleus of George/Kawhi/Hibbert... WOW

Imagine George and Kawhi absolutely DOMINATING the perimeter for maybe a decade while Hibbert is a great big downlow. Imagine Jordan/Pip/Ewing.. that's how I feel that trio could've been in todays watered down league :wow

Even if they would have drafted Kawhi that doesn't mean they would have had a long term nucleus of them 3. Think Durant, Westbrook, Harden. OKC wasn't willing to spend the money, one of them wasn't willing to take the pay cut and a part of Harden didn't want to share the spotlight with 2 other stars.

Yeah, because some nutjob told them that re-signing Porkins was a bigger priority. :wow

As I've said before, Utah's the one with egg on their face. Could have had both of those guys in the draft but instead got Burks and Hayward. At least we have one.

And lol@hater with the reference, love it

well the Paul George trade was for Kawhi.... I wonder how Boozer would've fit if we had kept him though

Why the fuck are you giving credit to the pacers?

All the praise goes to the Spurs scouts. Pacers just pick Kahwi because the Spurs wanted him.

Stephenson is doing a pretty damn good job for them this year tbh... and has shown more than Kawhi in the first 10 games of the season.

I'm not saying he's a better player by any stretch of the imagination, but Kawhi hasn't exactly set the world on fire yet.

Shown more what? Offense? That's the only thing Lance could be better at. Even then, Kawhi is only averaging 1 point less in nearly 6 less minutes. And oh yeah, Kawhi's field goal percentage is WAY higher. Their defense isn't even comparable, Kawhi wins by a landslide. Leonard rebounds at a higher pace, and the only thing Lance leads him in is play-making. I get that we were hoping for a 15ppg/10rpg Kawhi (Which I always found un-reasonable with SA's current system) but don't say he looks less impressive than Lance Stephenson

Lance isn't more impressive than Kawhi, but he's definitely shown more in absolute terms this season and i think pacers would be quite happy with his play early on. His offense isn't just limited to sheer numbers, the guy is shooting 45% from three, is chalking up plenty of assists and he is rebounding at a high rate despite being on a strong rebounding team that doesn't play much small ball.

Offense is the one area i was expecting improvement from Kawhi early on. i was hoping he would be more of a focal point, continue his effective 3pt shooting, and start creating a little more for his teammates.

Kawhi is still a better player - i was never questioning that, I know he has played less minutes and been involved in blow-outs but i'm still waiting for him to put a couple decent offensive displays this season.

Spurs told Pacers to pick Leonard for the trade to happen.

No, it really won't. Harde, WBrook and Durant will. But not this. TBH

I think they're more than happy with Stephenson and George at the 2 and 3

may not have worked out. u always need a coach to make these things work. then u can add in if granger was never hurt. leonard would not have received any minutes fighting for time against george and granger.
