Not by stats. But who are the greatest shooters you have seen play live?

Here is my list:

Dirk, Ray, Bird, Dale Ellis and Reggie.

All 5 of these guys could shoot, obviously.

Bird is the best player that was also a great shooter.
Reggie was my big moment guy with the greatest series of plays ...his 8 points to shock the Knicks was crazy.
Dirk is the most consistent. He has off games but I dont know he just seems so reliable his 3 game fell off for a few seasons but he still got buckets. And in 2011 he was amazing all year best overall shooting season since Bird in 1984 imho ... factoring season, playoffs and finals.
Ray has the best form and is the best off the bounce of the 5 he could sneak by you for a quick dunk.
Ellis in his prime was so cold blooded and pretty emotionless. He just sank j's ... his prime is shorter then everyone else on this list, but I remember as a kid anytime he got a "look" against the Lakers it (felt like) it was good.

Who do yall have and how do you rank 'em?

nash on the suns was very efficient, would always man up on him cause u cant afford to let him shoot, but u know every time he penetrates into the key for the pick and roll with 3 ft seperation from ring and defender he would not go for the free basket 2pts, instead dribbles it back out or looking for open man <<< he couldve scored more then what he really avgs if he was more selfished....a guy who is very efficient shouldnt be very passive, same shit with that wanker euro who played on the raptors calderon, this clown is only concern about protecting his efficiency then trying to score more volume....

brent barry on the spurs was deadly also, could be more then a spot up shooter or from the open man pass......there were times players would leave him open when his within range to shoot, i rather see him shoot then watch parker touch or have anything to do with the ball....

beno was very efficient also, too bad he never got the green light to be a chucker or else he got a ear load from pop and down goes down his confidence...

glen rice, mitch richmond, steve smith deserves a mention, good shooters back in the 90s....

that player on the nets was a very efficient and accurate shooter, whats his name?....jayson williams?

Glen Rice was the best college shooter I ever saw ... was more streaky in the pros ....

Price and Mullin are good calls as well.

Also weird no one's mentioned Curry yet, he's a career 44,6% 3PT shooter with 5.7 attempts per game

Since 2011 onwards I expect Dirk to make everyshot. Curry made some ridiculous threes these last playoffs too.

There have been very few shooters in the game who have combined super quick release and accuracy on catch'n'shoot :

- Del Curry ....laser quick
- Stephen Curry
- Reggie
- Denis Scott
- Ray Allen
- Glen Rice
- Dale Ellis

If that Curry kid ankles hold up he'll make some noise.

I'm still shocked at how Ray gets on everyone's top list. Ugly form... low percentage... and very streaky.

Most of Dirk's jumpers are off the dribble which makes it more impressive. Moreso considering he's 7 foot

Bird, Dirk & Steph Curry in that very order.

Amazing shooters who don't need to spot up. Steph has the greatest release though. That Denver series last year was amazing.
