... in the current era of contracts (obviously people made less in the 80's before basketball went global.
Among players who who have made an All Star appearance, and this stat includes the fact Manu is "injury prone"
Manu is #1 among all players in ( Career PER x Career Games Played) / Total Career Earnings.
This dude sacrifices a hell of a lot more than fans give him credit for.

Trolling for posters....
Thought a reference would be made to the fact that Kobe, without playing a game since his Achilles injury, just signed for two more years at $48.5 million. Way to take a pay cut to help bring home another title... will be the highest paid player in the NBA and take up around 40% of the Lakers' cap space.
Write that team off until 2015 at the earliest.

the Lakers will make many times that figure just for having Kobe in their team. great business decision by Lakers Front Office imo

Enough with the "Manu isn't getting paid enough" threads.

The lakers are paying more this season for Kobe than the spurs are paying this season for Parker, Duncan, and Manu combined.

Kobe even without an achilles makes the Lakers more money than Parker, Duncan and Manu ever could.
