I've never understood this. Isn't the NBA losing money on this? They play games on Christmas Day. What makes Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve special?

Can't compete with the NFL.

That argument is flawed because TNT has games on every Thursday during football season so they have to compete with Thursday Night Football on NFL Network.

people who're not celibates have things more meaningful to do on those eves than watching basketball or whatever stuff we do tbh, bro, and Valentine's day as well.

This, the NBA knows not to challenge its NFL overlords.

Not the same thing at all. There's going to be 9 consecutive hours of football today, and some on major networks too--not just some shitty Vikings-Redskins Thursday Nighter relegated to NFLN.

The NFL and college football have Thanksgiving on lock, much like Christmas is a big NBA day, tbh....

Cowboys-Raiders isn't a shitty matchup?

Exactly...and it's less about the games being good and more about tradition. People want to meet with family, eat until they can't budge and watch football on Thanksgiving.

The Cowboys are always must-see TV, and that's a lot more entertaining than some shit eating 1 of 82 NBA regular season game.

The only must-see Cowboys games are the ones when they get eliminated from making the playoffs tbh.
