Scarlett Johansson has been ruled ineligible for a Golden Globe acting nomination for her role as the voice of a computer operating system in the film Her.
Johansson, 29, has won rave reviews for her voice-over performance, in which she becomes the disembodied love interest of a character played by Joaquin Phoenix.
No performer has ever been nominated in an acting category for a voice-over part at the Golden Globes or Oscars, and a campaign has been launched for Johansson to be the first.
Supporters wanted the actress to be considered in the best supporting actress category. She was recently awarded the best actress prize at the Rome film festival.
However, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which decides the Golden Globes, has told the Warner Bros. studio, which is distributing Her, that the actress is not eligible because she is never seen on screen. Success in the Golden Globes is often seen as a signal for who will win at the Oscars.
It follows a previous controversy over nominations in acting categories involving Andy Serkis, whose motion capture performances in films including Rise of the Planet of the Apes and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey were also ignored.
Warner Bros. are continuing to put forward Johansson for the Oscars and she has not yet been deemed ineligible.
FUCK Golden globes, Goddess has been nominated for that shit 4 times but never won any. Nobody gives a shit about golden globes when my goddess is tipped to win the goddamn Oscar. OSCARLETT Johansson, MOTHERFUCKERS!!! :ihit: :ihit:

Great news. There's some awesome voice actors out there but now that some big name does a voice for a live action movie it's supposed to be taken more seriously? Gtfo, she's not even good as a regular actress

Our goddess has been nominated 4 times for that Golden piece of round shit but ends up winning none. Oscar is all that matters to her imho. Our goddess deserves at least an Oscar nomination for Her.

In that movie Her, why didn't the direct put a part in there in which you see her on a computer/tv screen talking to Joaquin Phoenix? If that happened, we wouldn't be having this conversation. I know she is a smoker but that voice is sexy as Hell.

you want to talk about actors getting screwed at the Oscars then look at Joaquin Phoenix himself. dude should have won once for either Walk the Line or The Master.

I guess the contract ruled that Scarlett didn't show her face or any part of her exquisite physical self in the movie. They only bought her voice so they didn't have no right to use even an image of hers in the movie, otherwise they would probably have to double or even triple the pay for our goddess tbh. And I agree, our goddess's voice is the nicest sound I've ever heard. You ought to join our fandom of Scarlett, my friend, so we would have three die-hard Scarlett fans on this website (you, shadow and me), maybe even four if Heel is also counted.

Yeah, the way she holds the white pen was so laughable. It seems she's never figured out how to hold a pen the right way imho. I mean it's so awkward when you clip the top of the pen between your ring and middle fingers instead of your index and middle fingers. I saw her using pen like this in An American Rhapsody, a 1999 movie, and about one decade and a half later she's stilling holding a pen that same childishly retarded way.

She should be allowed to be nominated. It's a bullshit technicality. Dido got nominated for Best Song for 127 Hours and she did not appear in that movie. Not knocking on Dido. She's a great singer. I'm just saying that if a human can be nominated for Best Song and not appear in the movie then why can't an actress or actor be nominated for doing a voice over/voice in a movie? The director of Her was an idiot and basically screwed Scarlett out of this shit. The director should have just put her image in a computer screen or a projection or hologram.

I don't think it was legible for Her's director to put our goddess's image in the movie imho, they only paid for her voice so they were only allowed to use her voice in the film. It was Scarlett's manager (her mom Melanie) who only sold Her the right to use her daughter's voice and refusing to let them use her image in the film, if anyone was to be blamed.
No one gives a shit about Golden Globes though when our Goddess is tipped for Oscar imho. Oscar is all that matters to her when she has already been nominated four times for golden globe shit.

Why didn't she get nominated for Lost In Translation? Bill Murray did but not Scarlett. I would love a sequel to Scoop and see her in that red one piece swimsuit again.

Our goddess was only a young actress back then and Lost in Translation was only her first film to play an adult role in. She earned her first golden globe nomination for that film which i think was good/satisfying enough for such a novice she then was imho.

old jewish son of a bitch Woody Allen doesn't have the brain or the energy to write a sequel to Scoop imho. I'll consider writing a sequel to Scoop but only if you promise you will read the updates of my novel on a daily basis and give feedback

Woody Allen was probably on his hands and knees thanking Scarlett for giving him a hard on because of her goddess body.
