Says on NBA.Com right now that their shopping him. I think he can score on his own but his D isn't so good. What do you guys think?

6'4 shooting guard.. Not a bad player with his salary and all but we need length.

Cleveland isn't giving him away. But sure, care to dream as if the Spurs haven't stockpiled enough gaurds. What's one more.

i don't dislike him as a player, but we'd probably have to give too much in return

A SG that shoots under 40% from the field? No thanks.

We have too many guards as it is, tbh. Why would we want more?!??!?!?!??!??!/?!?!/

Dude's a fkn scrub, per par, too, tbh.

Shouldn't we be looking for a PF for when Ayres is kicked from the team?

Yes, in two years

Yes, in two years

I don't mean the actual team, I mean people on Spurstalk. You know how this goes. Player does bad, Spurstalks look for players from around the league to replace. When suggestions are given, we take a crap on them.

We have no assets to trade, and they aren't going to just give him away. He was the 4th overall pick in the draft just two years ago, mind you. And he's only 21.

He's fat and slow. Needs the ball in his hands to be effective. No thanks.

I'd like to take this opportunity to just reiterate how much Jeff Ayers sucks.

Lots of ability. Even most in Cleveland have not worked out what his ceiling is. Can he play with Kyrie, that's the big question. But what is known is that his value is down at present and that makes it worth a look.
With Pop and Chip here etc this might just be very interesting.

Guy's being traded because he had a meltdown when he was taken out of the starting lineup and then bailed on practices and 2 games and blamed having the 'flu'.
Also allegedly got into a physical altercation with Kyrie in a players only meeting.
He is not Spurs material, ship him to Sacramento, he'd get aling great with DeMarcus tbh

Only way cleveland gives him away is that he turns out to be such a huge cancer they just need to rid him.

But I still think Cleveland will look to get real pieces back

The rumor mill says that he's the reason that Kyrie is wearing a plastic mask.

I think they're at that point. The problem for them is everyone KNOWS they're at that point.

Anyway, it's a different day under this current CBA. Teams only give you so much of a chance, and then they cut bait and throw you over the side, or dump you for almost nothing. Examples: James Anderson, Jimmer, Derrick Williams, and likely Evan Turner before the deadline. Teams will no longer throw players one big contract, like Rudy Gay, and hope that they develop.

trading belli and our next first rounder for him would be great, no chance the cavs are foolish enough though. oh, and i don't like his game.

They'd probably trade Green for him straight up our even give up a pick themselves. But that would be a foolish trade for the Spurs. I'd do it for a first, De Colo and Baynes, though.

Sounds good to me.

Anyone except Irving, Varejao and Bynum in the cavaliers is worthless. A bunch of scrubs, some of them think they are better than they are. Some ridiculous turnovers, so many wasted stupid shots.

I agree, there's no way to know he'll ever be good. Just like in football, sometimes draft picks just aren't that good and you can tell by year 2 (T Richardson). Heck, Kendall Marshall is in the D League now and Austin Rivers is only hanging on because of his famous dad.

Given the market for Derrick Williams (which netted an overpaid, one dimensional defensive stopper) may mean the asking price won't be too crazy.

If you don't like his game, then why screw with a good thing? If the Spurs stunk and Cavs were looking to contend, that's a completely different story.

He has some SJax in him, punching Kyrie and getting in Thompson's face, Pop is afraid of that kind of player...

Green + possibility to switch first round picks with them would be intriguing like Chinook said but you'd need a Garnett in the locker room to keep him in check... Play him based on his effort on D...

Dion Waiters is a scrub. You can put a scrub out there who has the same amount of minutes he has and shoot better than Waiters...

I'm sure the only thing Pop is afraid of with "that kind of player" is their jump shot.

It's one thing to be supremely talented, but a shit head, like Cousins. It's another thing to be an absolute scrub like Waiters, and trying to throw your weight around.

LOL at the notion that Pop is scared of his own players. Pop used to be an active CIA operative. He's not scared of anything.

A slower/shittier OJ Mayo imho. Ain't Mayo also a top4 pick something? Waiters is just a scrub who struggles to secure himself a starting spot even on a mediocre team. It wouldn't be a bad deal if he could be had for nothing (like Beasley to Miami), but if you had to give up any valuable assets in the forms of young prospects and picks, you would later regret it and think of it as even worse a deal than the Jefferson trade tbh.
