Our bench wasnt that bad against OKC... it's just that OKC like to play Durant with the bench, which makes it incredibly more difficult to guard them

That's not new, I mean, when tony is playing, the first thing he does is trying to score and then trying to move the ball.

We just had a bad game against OKC... it happens...
The Spurs played evenly with OKC until the mid 3rd quarter. They allowed themselves to get totally shut down.
Even a quick box score glance shows the tale of the game. 15 points in the 3rd Q? Game over.
Plus, Danny zero threes kills this offense
Jackson and Lamb went off, but if we take care of our own business, that doesn't matter and we still win. We let it get away from us in that 3rd and could not recoever.

Don't really care about differential here, but do about points against. Just a good indicator of the state of the defense.

Yeah, that makes sense. In that case, I hope we don't end up relying on the third string's defense anytime soon.

Nando/Matt/1st rounder for Afflalo tbh.

But this is one of the many ways that Pop's management of starter's minutes and games impacts not only their individual stats (so they don't stack up as well against some of their counterparts because they play less, etc. etc.) but the team stats as well. Had Pop left the first team or even the second team on the floor longer, the point differential would have been different and the points against would likely be lower than they were playing the third string for a good portion of the last quarter.
Again, it is a view to Pop's "larger view" or "longer view" that has to be taken into account when assessing these kinds of stats.

I agree that the third stringers skew the numbers... but still, if even with third stringers you're under 90 or low-90s, you're doing something well...
Plus if you care enough, you can break down the points allowed per the different lineups out there and get a better view...

I understand that the Manu/Marco/Mills rotation works but Mills should get the start even if it is for a minute for the dedication and respect he gives to the Spurs.
