I'm gonna take the glass half full view here. Yeah, we lost and at home.
But they've yet to quit on a game. And today was the perfect opportunity, down 23, nothing going in and everything going in for the opposition. They fought back, re-took the lead and couldn't close it down.
This team can compete with anybody. Effort will be there every night. I hope Bobo can come back soon, he's another energizer guy off the bench.
Love watching this team, tbh.

I'm also loving this team and I'm sure they'll learn from mistakes made down the stretch. Great team and I'm loving the addiction of Marco Bellinelli.
Hard to say Tim didn't quit when he refused to foul Harden near the end. That was either a brain fart or just gave up. I know he got a cool dunk and some points, but we rely on his defense and they walked all over him.

Agreed tbh. Beli is a great addition and big upgrade over Gary IMO. Spurs haven't even put it all together and still have a solid record. Will be fun to see how they do when everything's clicking tbh.
Would be even better if they can move Matt/Nando for anything close to a rotational player tbh.

I think the wrist-cutting is overboard too, tbh... this is the first time we're playing a team like the Rockets this season, which made substantial changes... I think we're learning from some of this stuff too... yet I can fault the effort or the competitive spirit.

The mistake was actually not fouling Howard when he caught the ball in the high post in the last 2 minutes.

If the Spurs played defense in the first half they wouldn't have had to come back. It seems like against .500 teams they need to get a rude awakening to actually play and that doesn't bode well.

Team's pretty good, I wouldn't say great until Manu and Tim can be trusted to score one on one again. OKC and 1st half against Houston proved that if Tony's having a quiet night, the Spurs are finished. Role players won't bail us out against great teams.

Sure, if you consider airballing a game winning shot at the end of the game, and not fouling down by 2 at a one possession time frame... he had a great game. My how standards have fallen.

Everyone loses games much worse than this one. If you play in the NBA you will lose a game. Tim though ten years ago was an absolte MONSTER so I will take that one back who lost a game here or there anytime (Don't see how he single handedly lost the games but oh well).

I wouldn't say I'm half full or half empty, just wait and see attitude til playoffs. Ginobili could lose us another Finals, Parker could go heroball at key moments. I just hope Duncan and everyone is healthy, plus we need lots of internal improvements.

He was a monster and we still gave T-Mac like 13 points in 35 seconds... not gonna nit-pick on Tim... we know just like Manu he isn't the guy from 10 years ago... he just had a few solid games back to back, what's not to like?

Tim didn't lose that game though, a fluke shooting even that never happened before happened and Devin Brown falling on the ground to hand the ball to him pretty much lost it. Tim alone was not the cause of losing that game it was a set of horrible events and fluke shooting. I agree on the second part of the list but I never compare Tim to Manu anyways as of course he is not the same as he was ten years ago but he had a HELL of a year last year and is just ageless at times. Manu looks worse at this age than Tim. I wish both well though as I am a huge fan of them and a Spurs fan first.

:lol you're missing the point. I'm not saying we lost that game because of Tim. I'm saying that even when Tim was a monster, we would sometime lose games, even games that looked like we had won. It's stuff that happens over 82 games.

Leonard is worrying me.
entered tonight was 25%3pt. Add on 0-3 tonight. He is scoring more per minute but his efficiency has been down. 12 ppg & 6.5 rpg in 27 mpg.
Our starting lineups spacing is become an issue. If Green isn't hot and Leonard is being Leonard are spacing is poor. Add Duncan struggles from mid-range and Parker who primarily shoots from 15-18 feet and it takes away from our effectiveness in the starting unit.
Every team (especially the Spurs who's playing title or bust) are just trying to figure rotations for now. Of course, we want to win our games, but the main thing is to get hot near March-April.
And like someone else mentioned... after 6, 7... how are you guys freaking out over this? I MAY NEVER get over game 6.

It was a great comeback and I am disappointed that the spurs couldn't hold the lead in the last few minutes. But I was impressed by Tim's play over the past 2 games. 14-3 is a good start to the season. Let's hope the spurs can bounce back against Atlanta and Minnesota this week. Indiana next Saturday will good test for the spurs.

Very proud of this team.
3 games in 4 nights.
The pluses.
1) Duncan is still Duncan, and come PO time, he will be schooling again one of the lowest IQ players in the history of the game (interference on parker's missed shot was beyond idiocy).
2) Beli.
3) Green and Leonard won't play this bad.
I thought the Refs had to pay attention to travelling this year: if, or when, this finally happens with Harden, Rockets will have a problem.

Play our bigs regardless of the matchups. Let us dictate the pace of the game and actually use our bigs rather than float with Bonner

Losing is good sometimes. How are you supposed to get better, if u can't learn from your mistakes? Winning streaks are great too, yet it's very easy to get complacent and get away from what makes you a great team.

When SA goes on the run there were like 3-5 possessions where they had numbers on a break and got ZERO points out of it
Danny Green still doesnt know what aggression means
And Kawhi get tunnel vision when he drives and its all or nothing
I can take the Parker TOs cuz his aggression got us back in the game

Was the same thing in Portland on a b2b. Kept fighting and keeping the game close, despite the fact that those guys just could not miss. Never hung their heads, just continued to battle. We're fine... Wouldn't surprise in the least if we go on another 6-8 game winning streak now, with a statement game on Saturday vs Indy.
