Specific window to keep eye on for Rockets moving Asik is Dec. 15 (when last summer's free-agent signees become trade-eligible) to Dec. 19

https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/641970951/twitterProfilePhoto_normal.jpgMarc Stein ‏@ESPNSteinLine (https://twitter.com/ESPNSteinLine)33m (https://twitter.com/ESPNSteinLine/status/409011982365253632)
You can liken this to Thomas Robinson situation. Everyone knew Rockets were moving him by draft day ... it's just of matter of where now

https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/641970951/twitterProfilePhoto_normal.jpgMarc Stein ‏@ESPNSteinLine (https://twitter.com/ESPNSteinLine)34m (https://twitter.com/ESPNSteinLine/status/409011636817498112)
Reason Dec. 19 is significant is because anyone Rockets get would be eligible to be re-packaged in new deal on trade-deadline day (Feb. 20)

Hearing this strong: Rockets determined to trade Omer Asik by Dec. 19 at latest and have ramped up discussions with potential trade partners

Let the speculation begin!

LOL backloading that Asik deal so they can only take $5 million in salary back to a team that will have to pay him $15 million next season. I doubt the Rockets will get anything close to equal value.

I see a trade that would work with Boston. Asik and Beverly for Rondo.

You mean conference partner. And it ain't a rivalry at all until Houston beats us. Last year was their best opportunity.

:lol still losing to us after Russ went down

Texas is a badass state. It's the region in which you reside that is an inoperable tumor to all of that state.

He counts for $8.3 Million in cap all three years. The Arenas Rule prevented the backloading from affecting the cap.

Houston can take back $12.55 Million. Salary matching won't be an issue.

Asik would be a perfect fit to Dallas, a defensive hardcore which would be the ideal complement to dirk, but just like Indazone said the Rockets would probably never make a deal with us (knowing how bad we kicked their red monkey asses in 05' playoffs). We're second only to Utah on their hate list tbh.

Marion for Asik, not sure if it works capwise but would Rocket fan take that?

Not bad, Marion is a decent small ball PF in his twilight years, and some sort of veteran presence, should be a nice fit as T Jones main back up or even a starter with limited minutes. But Dallas has to throw a pick or two as sweetener i guess, and trading with a division rival makes it almost impossible to happen.

rockets (DH) would be better off if they equip him with a stretch four but I don't think Marion is a stretch 4 by any means, and Marion is obviously too old to fit in those red-ass monkeys tbh. Delusional commies want Dirk and Dirk is our only asset appealing to them, but theres no hell of way we would trade them Dirk.

Then stop dreaming about asik. dirk is the only value Dallas has. Marion would help with the Rockets defense tho, but not for asik.

Celtics need a big man worse than they need Rondo. Throw in a starting point guard and it makes them better. They aren't going to be in the playoff's anyhow.

but maybe you can throw Rin into the deal in exchange for some cheaper trashes tbh. Cuban has big enough a purse to absorb Rin's contract which will pay this yellow scrub 15m next season :lol

Flame on! This is a trade that makes sense and the dollars work out. Morey can throw a scrub in to sweeten the pot but I'm still thinking this will work. Trades with Lin and Asik will not work because you have Asik who's owed 15 mil on a back loaded contract and Lin who's owed 15 mil on a back loaded contract. Not gonna happen. Plus Morey has a history of dealing away players who are coaches favorites. Beverly is going to be traded. That's my prediction and I"m standing by it!

LOL at Rondo & Harden ... dat won't work ... bad fit.

What about ryan Anderson + Aminu or Doc Rivers son?
Houston gets a stretch 4 and another young "asset" Morey could ship in a separate deal ...
Pelicans get a big so they can slide Davis to PF
Best shotblocking team in NBA in New orleans ...
Rox gets to hoist eVEN MORE 3's since stat heads like Morey value that more than anything else ...

It doesn't matter who Houston acquires. They're still a second tier team in the West with all the losers they have on their squad.

I'm going to love when Houston is knocked out again. I mean if they can't beat a severely undermanned Thunder team, they really suck partner. I'm especially going to love when your faggot ass grows increasingly bitter when we knock y'all out again.
