All of these guys would bring long, heavy contracts with them that the Spurs organization wouldn't/couldn't absorb. And they still probably wouldn't take the pay cut.

Especially since 4 of the 5 you mentioned already play for playoff contenders.

They would just want big bucks next season, which would mean there would be hell to pay next summer.

Besides, Barry will be a valuable asset to this team next season, and should not be shipped out by any means.

Rasho's future as a Spur is much more questionable, but I still think he deserves his spot on our bench. At least until Oberto shows signs of promising development.

At approximately 20 million over the cap, we'd have to clean out some serious salary to be able to sign a marquee free agent. Unless you want to trade Duncan......ain't happening.

rasho is clearly not over paid for any team and neither is barry in my opinion. spurs fan are becoming as cheap as their owner? both this guys would be given more by many teams (i konow GM are stupids) but admit they are not over paid.

answering the scenario, i do not see this happenening. however it does not sound stupid. i think the idea for the next 2 - 3 years is to balance barry - bowen - horry experience with young prospects they could mentor to form a solid core of role players around Tim - Tony - Manu

they are the chosen stars for this town, it is set for years to come.

We all know that Tim and Manu are the two main stars. I think the only one of the big 3 that a GM could actually suggest a trade with is Tony Parker and even then he is a 23 year old PG that has shown he can be very good in the NBA. I think maybe the initial poster played too much NBA Live or something cause those are the kind of moves I would make in my dynasty mode.

We can still clear up in money and if we can't sign them there is a big chance we can sign Al Hairington or T.Prince they would be a good fit at SF after Bowen.
