I have not had the luxury to watch many spurs games this season. Having said that, i fully expected the spurs to start off slow after how last season ended. Its human nature. Just look at how most teams start off the next season after losing in the finals.

What bothers me is is the sickening level you so called spurs fans sink to each year. From the Manu hate, to the pop bashing. This sort of what have you done for me lately attitude leads me to think we have an influx of non native San Antonio fans and morons who have never played the game of basketball-at any level.

My father in law who lives in Okc called me up after the thunder beat the spurs, i said "to teams that have never won an nba championship the regular season means a lot." He's was completely deflated.

Wake me when the playoffs start...

While I agree with all of what you said, you should realize that many of the people here are trolls. For whatever reason, it seems like this forum is filled with trolls moreso than other places on the internet. You shouldn't take everything said here seriously. Your point remains, though...there are a lot of spoiled Spurs fans (really just sports fans in general).

By the way, thank you for your service. It is very much appreciated.

Good lord you are the most negative fan in here it seems alot of times. Even though they have won nothing since 07 they have been very successful and done more than most teams can dream of short of a title! How many teams have won since then? Not many sides Miami or LA (Dallas one), can't imagine you being a fan of a team that actually is a first round exit or worse every year if you are so negative about the Spurs Rob..

I'm sure many Spurs fans here want to win as much as possible before the Spurs (inevitably) become the Bobcats (or now, the Jazz) of the League in a few years. (When Pop, Duncan, Parker, Ginobili retire).

Having said that, I'm still not impressed that the Spurs haven't beat a worthy opponent yet this year...

It is always frustrating when you see Spurs lose a game. But it seems the Spurs tend not show up specially during regular season statement games (against elite teams). It seems that Pop don't want to show his card not until play off starts. I remember two year ago when Spurs played Clippers in LA and Spurs lost. I thought that Clippers was unbeatable but at play off time Spurs swept the Clippers. Same thing with Heat. Last year regular season I always thought that Spurs have no change of beating the Heat but during Finals, Spurs was almost a Champion. I may be wrong with my observation but I think Pop try not show the Spurs strenght specially during regular season and that is the reason why Spurs are always under the radar.
Go Spurs Go!!!!

The fact that you got back from deployment is entirely irrelevant to your actual post. Do you start every sentence with "Got back from deployment and..."? Not trolling, legit question. Got back from deployment and just wondering why you would start your thread with an entirely meaningless fact about your life, tbh.

Word. People complaining over a loss in December is comical. I don't care who the opponent was, Spurs haven't even played 20 games yet and people want to wave the white flag lol. Unless it's an elimination game, i'd keep my mouth shut. #spursnation

Thank you for your brilliant service on behalf of this nation and its citizens, bro, we salute you. Teams tipped for real glories don't care that much about the regular season, and it also irritated me a lot when people kept bashing Manu for his sub-par performances during the NBA finals, even though I'm not a Spurs fan at all. There're teams who celebrate regular season wins like championship rings (just go downstairs and notice that Blazers fan named TlongII), but if I remember correct the Seattle Supersonics did win the NBA championship once tbh.

It isn't "service". It is voluntary and you get paid. Kinda like being a mercenary. I did it and I don't need a thank you. It was my choice--same as anyone else--since there is no draft.

Also, go Coast Guard. They always have a job and "deploying" to Barber's Point beats the f out of the Sand Box any day. Besides, I would rather rescue drowning people or bust drug dealers than drop bombs on or throw grenades at someone.

Almost agreed with the OP until he finished his post talking about the regular season and sayigng "wake me up when the playoffs start" kinda killed that. Can't really talk shit about other fans when you act like a fairweather one.

But yeah, it ain't just the non-natives, most of the native SA posters here are dipshits too. It's just a very negative forum here. The positives are rarely focused on anymore since fans take the good of the team for granted.

Call me naive, but I think I can actually make a difference in the world by joining the military. A mere speck of difference, yes, but a difference nevertheless. I mean, being in the service isn't only about dropping bombs or killing people. The military builds roads, schools, other infrastructures in other places. I think that's pretty cool. And regarding the service part? I thnk it still IS a service. Sure, you get paid, but the money's never enough to repay the effort and sacrifice the troops put in for the country. But hey, that's your opinion and I respect that. To each is his own. :toast

The "just got back from deployment" was used to contrast the "fat kid at the buffet" remark. I don't need a thank you, I'm not a hero... I wanted to get people's attention-it worked.

Back to point. Enjoy the ride. Enjoy the grind, savor every moment, and expect defeat.
