Update this thread throughout the season, tbh..

Record without him: 10-9(6-2 in their last 8 games, on fire)..including Ws against the Clippers, Hawks, Rockets and Warriors..

With him: 2-4, no notable Ws yet..

Should be an interesting season, tbh..

TBH no teammate dares to play any more defense on him than he himself does during practices that's why he felt so good and got the courage to return. Dude should stay out of the game just to save his legacy, get the whole 50m check at the end of 15-16 season then retire tbh

And make no mistake, despite Kobe having a good game numbers wise tonight. This 0-2 record is because of Kobe. He stalls the offense, players aren't as comfortable with him around.

It was very funny to see him posting up every possesion when his teammates where trying to run something else or chasing Blake around to set a screen so he could get the ball. :lol

There's a reason one particular player is being targeted by the Suns every time down.

Hint: His vertical is roughly the height of a folded newspaper.

Kobe needs to stop using Pau as his crutch. Stop passing to Pau....he'll fumble it away. Pass to the other guys. When they get used to passing/playing together it will be really good!

LAL got worse because Blake Mamba could no longer run MDA's offense well because there's a ballhog (hint, Mitch: Don't go after Melo if you want to live a healthy life) and because Kirby has lost so much of his explosiveness that the young guns whose ability to defend the fastbreak have been cancelled out.

Looking at the Lakers schedule, its obvious why Kobe chose the Toronto game to come back despite not being ready.

Kobe wanted a lot of attention surrounding his comeback (see ridiculous facebook video), so coming back during a road game was out of the question. The Lakers had a road-heavy schedule in December with home games against Toronto, Phoenix, Minnesota and then the Heat on Xmas. The Raptors were the weakest opponent an thus the obvious choice.

Signing that contract put a lot of pressure to come back. 48 million for a guy who hasnt played all season sure did look bad but it was obviously a huge mistake to rush back when he can barely even jump.

Sitting won't improve his injury, his lot. He has to play thru it. He didn't come back because of the 48. He came back because he wanted to--to prove the doubters wrong. To prove the haters wrong. To spite mine enemies. That's all he can do.

& that's the fuel that powers an enabled sociopath like Kobe. Most sociopaths are powerless unless they take up the gun. He ran Daddy off, Daddy rings and moons Kobe. What does Kobe do? He goes into his room at home away from the Brillo head twins and wide load and plots his vengeance, maybe kicks the dog. Hunts Daddy down and keeps quiet thru the tie and the approaching zenith, then rings and springs the trap he'd set with a Media member to query him on cue...makes Daddy eat the whole shit sandwich, not on FaceBook, Youtube, Myspace, or, Twitter. 1-4 now with Gravano, tbh..

Their offense looks hideous when he's on the floor, tbh..all they do is run post-up plays for Kobe, which slows the offense down to a crawl and makes them very easy to defend..

I watched every minute Kobe's been on the court and his defense is not great, but he has not allowed his man to have big nights on him. If you think he has, tell me their stats where he got owned? Meanwhile, a player literally has his career high on Pau (Amir Johnson 42 points on 14-17 FG), and one of the Morris brother shot 10-13 against the Lakers.

The Lakers were by no means good without Kobe, but so far they're downright ugly in the games he's played. Jordan Hill and Nick Young had brilliant games last night and Pau Gasol had a great first half and they still managed to get completely blown out. Kobe, Meeks, Williams, Kelly, Wes, and 2nd-half Pau were all terrible.

Kobe's doing a good tanking job for the Lakers imho. They ain't gonna make the playoffs this season anyway so maybe they can set their hope on the future. Their record may not be too bad compared to most eastern teams but they'll still have a legit chance to land a top10 pick for next year's draft knowing that playoffs teams are ineligible for draft lottery despite regular season records.

But wait... do the Lakers still have their 14' draft pick, I mean the first round one?

You do support the tank, but be honest, you didn't support LA paying Kobe that crazy money and were worried Kobe would ruin the tank. You have said this before. Kobe was supposed to help win now and instead he made LA worse and got paid.

Meh. They are what 2-4 since his return? Even if he came back and you take away both PG's they still were gonna lose.
You cats act like Kobe coming back is the only factor. He did not win last night's game by himself or lose vs. by himself vs. aTL...even as shitty as he played.
Again it's always a "team accomplishment" when convenient around here ...

The Lakers are not as bad as Harlem states, but they do suck.
Not many teams except Miami and a few others not even the Spurs could expect to go better than 2-3, 2-4 while losing all 3 PG's on the roster ...
And yes, Kobe is screwing up my tank job if he stayed away until XMAS with all of these injuries Lakers may lose all 6 games ...

So now that the Lakers are sucking, Kobe is not responsible for the wins and losses, all despite the fact that the Lakers were 10-9 w/o him and 2-4 with him.

Lakers defense

Before Kobe: 102.8 opp ppg, 44.6%fg
With Kobe: 108.2 opp ppg, 48.1%fg

You're not going to beat anyone giving up 48.1% shooting. That is somehow Kobe's fault?

No, it's just a coincidence that the defense got worse when Kobe returned.

:lol Lakers were winning with Blake/Farmar but no Kobe. Bring back Kobe, but lose Blake/Farmar and they can't win. Very interesting.

11-9 without Vino, 2-4 with him... Numbers speak for themselves, tbh
