View Full Version : Does it seem like Parker isn't getting any calls this year?

His rate of drawing fouls has dropped from .33 to .26 and he is still attacking the rim relentlessly. I counted 3 or 4 times this game where he got absolutely mauled and didn't get the call. What is up with this?

Hes never gotten calls in his career
he is known as a bit of a flopper and he does that move where he runs into people and just throws his arm up at contact which unless your James Harden they dont call

but ya he definitely isnt getting calls this year
and it would be stupid to suggest he doesnt attack the rim or drive enough to get calls which is the usual reason people would say a player doesnt get calls

Most times he is being blocked, or that must be what officials see.

Tony Parker was an absolute moron tonight. Kept forcing the issue like Kobe Bryant surrounded by 3-4 jerseys when he has open team mates on the wing. Really disappointed in Tony's teamwork tonight.

Parker was a total hero tonight. He was hurting the team, tbh! The only player that played significant minutes with a negative +/-!!! 6-16 from the field = heroball.

His FT rate (FTA per FGA) is .259...which is noticeably lower than his career average. CP3/Westbrook both have FTr above .4. Parker has just never been great at getting to the line, despite his constant effort to embellish contact.

Really uncreative in his fast breaks tonight he was, thats why he did not get the calls ...

He's just jacking up heroes near the basket and isn't getting calls because there aren't any to make. He's being lazy, tbh, and when he does get to the line, he's shooting awful at the stripe, tbh. Let's hope that changes soon. Tbh.

Tony is taking some quarters off, and while it might be frustrating to watch, it's all right... coasting, tbh...

tonys been sucking to be quite honest

sure IMO he's coasting and when the playoffs come about and if he's still healthy and in shape, he could possibly still carry this team. but let's call a spade and spade and accept he looks like shit out there right now

didn't he win the Euro championship or someshit this summer? IMO he's running on fumes. He'll try to recharge after all star break. A dangerous move, but it's the only move he has. Otherwise he'll break down like french bread

I agree, I'm also a big TP homer but he's not as good as last year, not even close so far, clearly tired from his summer and at risk of injury... Pretty concerning but we'll see as the season goes on...

Kawhi can be put in the same bag as well, instead of being tired he seems to have a nagging injury... Both guys have basically no backup as well...

I think Tony is burned out and he is clearly taking some quarters off. He's still a badass though. He just needs to stay healthy.

Let's re-visit this, post All-Star break shall we?

I agree that Tony looks bad this year for at least one or two quarters per game. For me he just looks bored. He's clearly not trying as much as he did last year.

In some ways it is okay that he is not as dominant because our bench is so much better than it was last year. But still he just looks like he figures if its not a playoff game or a Euroleague championship he needn't get up for it. I don't like seeing it.

I agree that he is getting mauled in the paint and it is not being called, but I disagree about the reason for it. Last year he got a warning...only a warning...he never got fined, so it is clear that he is not as big a flopper as some guys, but he is really not getting the calls and then he gets pissed and sulks. Tim used to do this and I think it happens when guys have gotten credit for being so important to a team and they expect to be protected ( ala Durant, etc.), but Tony isn't being protected and he spends more time going to the rim than even our bigs. Makes no sense.

Tony should shoot 5 feet from the rim, I hate games like game 7 when those drives to the basket were lackluster, boring and predictable.
Dude would love to be at least 6´5¨and play SG, but thats never going to happen.
Honestly Im more comfortable watching Patty Mills and Manu handling the ball and creating plays than TPork who is as stubborn as Pop, he wants to be the MVP or nothing, team goes to hell, also Patty makes some wild 3s like yesterday, but he has proved his shots on lots of games and even his D is improving. I dont care what other Spurs fans say to me TPork affects the team in a bad way.

Parker had an exhausting summer, I was quite surprised to see him playing great at the start of the season... But it seems it is catching up right now....again not really a surprise. For now I'm just happy he is out of injury concern. He should play less and rest as much as possible

Parker will always do that play where he charges into a big and give the ref a sad look like he ordered a bunch of croissants and escargot and didn't get what he wanted.

He has been playing pretty off, hopefully Pop can give him lots of rest because we need him and a dollop of his Heroball in the playoffs.
