He's been decent. His passing has been great this season. But it's the regular fucking season, who gives a shit. He is going to have to deliver when it counts to be absolved of that ghastly performance last season. Until then, whatever he does in the regular season is irrelevant. As Spurs fans especially, you should know not to overrate what happens in the regular season. If he averages 20/12 it's great until he throws away 8 possessions in a Finals game and shits all over the season. I love Ginobili, but that's how it is. To the rest of us who are not blind Manu homers, he will have to prove it in the postseason. Whatever he is doing now, while nice and helpful to the team, doesn't mean squat if he shits the bed in the postseason again. Real talk

man i want to be wrong. i hope i'm wrong about him being done. nothing would make me more happy than to be wrong and him help us win another title. anything i've said about him has not beeen wrong. he did fuk us out of another title. him and popovich both. if he fails this season, WE AS A TEAM fail. so i don't mind him playing good. how fukin stupid would i be for wanting him to play bad just to prove i was right? i said he was finished but if he plays well this season and we win another title, i'll take it, but it's still "fuk ginobli" after the finals.. i don't forget shit

So if a player averages 50 points per game but he doesn't reach the finals or playoffs, he is not a good player, GOOD JOKE, tell me another one.

So there isn't a BIG 3 anymore or we have a big 2 (TP and TD) because Kawhi isn't part of the big 3. Don't tell me Kawhi is part of it.

Except that's not what he said at all... In fact you're not even close. He implied that there is a minimum threshold of stats that a player needs to surpass in the regular season to be eligible for "big 3" status and Manu doesn't make the cut. He didn't say anything about imaginary players averaging 50 PPG and not making it to the finals.

The spurs currently have a big 2 - Tony and Tim.

We are 20 games into the season and he did not have the slightest injury we know of. That alone gives him confidence which shows in his good three point shooting the last games.

lol? He said that regular season is irrelevant, and what about players like Mcgrady, for example, that only played 38 playoff games in his entire career? 2 times scoring NBA championship, 7 times all star all that don't matter because he only played 38 playoff games and most of his games were of regular season? Please, stop saying bs.

See this way, what if Mcgrady averaged 50 points per game in his career but he only played 38 playoff games and never won a championship. What you will say about him? "It doesn't matter how he plays in the regular season" ??? Please.

Manu has been unbelievable. His raw stats, let alone advanced (see Spurs offense with him on/off the court) have been great for such limited minutes. He, along with others on the bench, are the main reason the record is so good (plus Tiago)

He CAN'T play heavy minutes. He will get hurt. He is a part-time player and won't give us enough to win it all. Even at his best he won't be able to sustain the burn necessary to get it done.

I ask myself that a lot. Last season and Manu's bed wetting took a lot out of me as a fan. I have League Pass and have maybe watched three games all the way through this year. Used to look forward to game night. This year....not so much. We are gonna go through all the motions only to lose in the second round....

Even back when the Spurs couldn't make the playoffs I had more motivation to watch them than I do this year....

And to think my favorite player is the reason we lost with his ridiculous play in the Finals..... I don't know if I will even bother watching until the playoffs. I would rather walk my dog.

Pretty much. We were all upset for the play in the FINALS and rightfully so he was horrible for the most part. I love watching Manu and he is one of my fave Spurs etc., but he played horrible in the biggest stage and that hurt us.

Exactly. I hate when people won't accept that these people get hated for a reason. I'm sure if Jeff Ayres started putting up a consistent 15 pts and 10 rebs, no one on Spurstalk would talk crap about him, until he started messing up again.

Manu is basically the reason I became a Spurs fan, but even I will admit he earned the hate he got. Of course the "Manu hate squad" is going to be quite when he is playing well.

Another example: Look at Marco. At first people were saying he was just as bad as Neal(I think they should have giving Marco more time before saying that. It was the very beginning of the season). Now it is pretty clear that Marco is a better fit for our team than Neal.

Agreed. I have stopped posting during games because I can't stand the hate for one or another player as soon as they are less than all-star caliber on any given night. It is a major distraction from the game, so anymore I just go to another forum or just keep it on the nba TV companion and enjoy watching the game. Haters are just not worth fighting with during a game and it has gotten to such epic proportions around here that I and a fair number of others are just not participating any more. It is just not any kind of fun.

Marco has been the most underrated signing in quite some time imo. Some of us, present company included, saw what a glorious and perfect fit Marco would be with the Spurs, while a vocal minority still prefer Neal. Marco single handedly saved Manu from Los Pepes, who still have their silencers and bolitos ready in case Manu breaks down per par in the post season. But I think Marco will end up saving him. That and not playing for his shitty national team so he could preserve his body instead.

Well that's ironic.

I get my word spacing wrong sometimes, but I try my best to keep my punctuation and sentence structures as comprehensive as possible. The run on sentences and just flat out poorly structured sentences is what I try to avoid.

You are a joke. You are not a fan. Real fans watch THEIR GOD DAMN TEAM. You DON'T. GTFO. You have revealed yourself. How can you have a valid opinion on anything WHEN YOU DON'T EVEN WATCH THE FKN GAMES?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!?!?!

Also what douche spends $27-41 dollars a month and watches 3 games? Its probably more efficient to just burn the money in a trash can.

Look, Manu is a good bench player. He isn't the difference maker he used to be, and he hasn't been for about 3-4 years. Just too many injuries, and he is old. It's nothing to hate him for, father time is UNDEFEATED unfortunately. Accept him for what he is. A player that helped bring us rings, a player that carried the team when there were injuries. A player willing to come off the bench, sacrifice minutes, stats, status, and money. The Spurs were/are pretty fortunate to have him.

That's bad for your teeth son. They take a layer of enamel to make your teeth whiter but that only lasts a couple of month then you go back to having yellow teeth and even more yellow than before because you have less enamel.

He got so embarrassed in the Finals by showing up unprepared. Couldn't dribble. Passed to the wrong team. Chucked up shots way early in the clock that clanged. His pride finally got to him even though he did,"So so" according to himself.

Dude was so glad to be IN the Finals (remember the shot of his jersey he posted) he forgot to PLAY.

I would rather walk my dog.Um, good for you?

I'm glad for Manu but it feels hollow to me after he blew the Finals. If he can help us get a ring again then that will be very cool for everyone.

it does validate Johnny Ringo's point though about grinding himself down in the offseason and giving Spurs sloppy seconds, because he looks a lot better now.

It also validates other points. Namely that Manu can still be occasionally brilliant, but it isn't gonna be consistent.

I am with you. It seems hollow. Perhaps he was so ashamed that he decided to refocus this year. I am still not sold. Ripped our hearts out last year and he knows it...
