Glad they did away with center voting. with seeing how weak the west frontcourt looks, I can easily see Duncan making another all star team if his recent play keeps up.

What a joke all-star voting is. Just let the fuckin coaches and gms pick the teams.

The All-Star game is built entirely for the entertainment of the fans, tbh..if they vote for players they want to watch, even if undeserving, that's their right and that's the purpose of the game..it's for the fans, tbh..

All-NBA teams are an accomplishment for the players, not All-Star games to entertain the fans..

It's been poorly selected for years now. I'm not at all surprised about the voting so far.

Fans should know by now that the All-star game is no indication of a players overall performance.

I understand being frustrated with this kind of shit though mainly because many analyst still use this to justify their "picks" and "prefrenece" and as gauge of a players performance in given year which is stupid IMO...

Thankfully we have the the All-NBA teams tbh..

Do the Spurs really deserve any all-stars this year?

Parker's having a worse year than last year, and the frontcourt is loaded with bigs to keep Duncan out, and he had a rough start. The low minutes across the board are also suppressing things for other players.

CitizenDwayne
12-12-2013, 04:38 PM
Parker's having a worse year than last year

But Parker was probably the 2nd best PG in the NBA last year, after CP3, and in the MVP running. He may have taken a step down, but he should still be at least in the All-Star discussion.

So much wrong...

I love Timmy, but how is he ahead of guys like Aldridge/Dirk? If he keeps up his recent play I can see it, but after that horrible start, he still has a ways to go.

Jeremy Lin over Parker? Where the hell is Ty Lawson? Lillard coming in at last behind Steve Nash?

Derrick Rose and Kyrie Irving over John Wall? Rose was horrible before getting re-injured and Kyrie has been in a huge slump this year.

Garnett and Chandler over Drummond? Garnett has been utter shit, and Chandler played, what, 5 games before getting injured? Meanwhile Drummond is having a great year.

Of course, the greatest part is Kobe coming in at #1 despite playing in two games and contributing to ZERO wins.

This voting goes to show how stupid and clueless the average NBA fan is.

I will never understand why Spur fan gets so worked up over the All Star game. It's an event, as HH said, for the fans. Like it or not, outside of SA not many people like the Spurs :lol. I enjoy AS weekend still overall, but it has become quite terrible over the years. It's nothing to be angry about though.

Because it is one of the criteria used to define "great" players. Our guys get screwed in the annals of history as a result.

I would love it if the Spurs had no one TBH. I want them chillin'. The only thing I care about is the 3 point contest and as long as a Spur gets selected for that, I am happy. Hopefully Danny can get his stroke back and if not him, Beli..

I agree but I see can where the frustration comes from.

HH and you might get it, but the fact of the matter is that many Analyst still use All-Star appearances to gauge a players importance/skill level etc. That affects players in the short run with contracts and people also use it when discussing legacies.

After what Danny did in the finals last year, I would think he actually stands a chance to be in the contest. Would be fun to see him and Neal face off, as well as Allen and Miller, and Bonner and Novak (all west vs east action).

So Timmy/Tony getting in will still happen.

If players like Tim and Tony are concerned about All Star voting, they should either be more publicly involved or play for a higher profile team. You cannot have your cake and eat it too. The fact that Yao Ming was a top vote getter in years he never even suited up is testament enough of the validity of the AS vote in relation to quality of player.

The only thing the NBA could do about it is have a minimum level of games played where you qualify for the AS game, but since it's an American business, it's all about what the Chinese want.

Old School 44

I just look at who would be the starting 5 for each conference, not who else is getting votes. For example, Lin has a lot of votes, but he's not getting in as a starter, and he's DEFINITELY not going to be selected by the coaches.

So with that, in the East, the only one I have an issue with is Carmello. He's terrible and his team is terrible. Should be Hibbert easy.
The back court selections are ok considering the choices, maybe John Wall should be up there.

In the West, the front court should include Aldridge, before Griffin.
The back court, no issue with Paul, but definitely NO KOBE. Should be Harden, Curry, Westbrook, TP or Lillard.
