The elves had no purpose other than to introduce some shitty fan fiction between Tauriel and Kili. Legolas and Thranduil are humorously over done. The allusions to LOTR are done in such an obvious and gratuitous way that I feel embarrassed.

It was alright. Calling it shit's a little strong. It was still great visually, the graphics and cinematography. The action scenes were badass, especially the barrel/river scene. Bilbo was an awesome character. Unfortunately, Smaug was pretty underwhelming. I'm glad he at least dies in the beginning of There and Back Again. Basically, the last 30 min or so was a dud

Finally got around to seeing it. It was about 20 minutes too long as I suspected, but pretty good for a middle movie.

On a technical note, HFR 3D is the way to go for me if I bother with 3D. Pretty much eliminates the motion flickering that I find annoying.
