With Kevin love having a high scoring game of 40 points right now I was thinking I can't recall somebody ever scoring in the 50's against the spurs during the Duncan era. Can anybody back this up.

I think Kobe did but he had to jack up like 35-40 shots to do it.

If it did happen, Dirk, Amare, and Kobe would be my best guesses.

I don't think he ever did. I remember Kobe had a few 40 point games against the spurs but was never able to crack 50 against them.

All those guys had 40 point games but never cracked the 50 point barrier.

Pop will never allow a single player to score 50 against us

I suspect a foot would be under someone jacking up those shots if they closed in on 50

Well, maybe the year before TD arrived and Da Admiral was out with injury.

Iverson lit us up a few times but never hit 50. Kobe had like 40 some odd in that playoff game in 04 when he flew from the rap case (Colorado) to beat us that night). Dirk may have hit 40 one time in that playoff series in 01 or 06 but I don't remember a 50 pt game. Tim and Dirk used to put up some big numbers when they met. Someone search to see if it has happened.

What about McGrady when he was with Houston?

Shocking just dug through the archives and found out that out of all the 50 point games in nba history that nobody has ever scored 50 or more against the spurs. I wonder how long that will last.

I jumped the gun on that. Actually few guys have done it. I will list them all but none in the Duncan era.

Some guy named Purvis Short who played for the Warriors holds the record for most points ever scored against the spurs at 57 points which was set in 1984. Billy Knight of the pacers is second with a 52 point game against spurs which occurred in 1980. Bernard King and Kiki Vandeweghe both had 50 point games against the spurs in 1984. Its amazing that it has been nearly 30 years since someone last dropped 50 or more against the spurs.

Well, it's not like players drop 50 every other game. I'm not really surprised, seeing as there might be one player with one 50 pt game per season.

I have been doing great RZ. Yeah its shocking the last time someone scored 50 or more against the spurs it happened 3 times in January of 1984. Could you imagine if someone explodes next month to end the 30 year drought how this board will react.

As long as the Spurs win the game, IDGAF how many points one player scores against us.

Yeah, the Spurs don't fare particularly well when Tim scores a bunch of points.

Last night was regular season game number 1200 for Tim, and the Spurs have a .715 winning percentage in those 1200 games.

Yet, in the 30 regular season games that Tim has scored 35 or more points, the Spurs are 15-15.

When timmy has to rack up stats that means that the rest of the players suck that night... example kevin love..

Kevin Love would be an outwright beast as a 2nd player on a contending team. Hard to see him being as effective as a number 1 though on a contending team that is.

How about 2013 Finals Game 6? Timmy had 30 and 17 in that game. Too bad it wasn't enough to overcome Turnobili.

41/15 in WCSF Game 7. (Spurs are 1-3 in the playoffs when Tim scores 40 or more)

One of those losses was that BRUTAL series against the Lakers in 2001. Duncan went off in game 2 or 3 and Spurs still got punked.

If only Juwan Howard had not destroyed Derek Anderson's shoulder...maybe we could have had a better chance.

Fuck Tim Hardaway for that 27 foot three pointer he hit to win the game.

Got nothing to do with it. Id let Howard shoot 60pts from the free throw line (with his accuracy) if that is what it takes to win a game.
