People in Seattle are geeked about their Seahawks' success this season and a possible Super Bowl run. But you could understand if one area car dealership was less than pleased with Sunday's results.

The Seahawks dismantled the New York Giants in Week 15, 23-0, rallying from a bump-in-the-road loss to the San Francisco 49ers the week before. And perhaps because of that loss, and with the cross-country travel for Sunday's game, Jet Chevrolet, a dealership in Federal Way, Wash. (located 25 miles south of Seattle) figured it could offer a promotion that it probably wouldn't have to make good on.

The deal: Jet Chevy planned to pay out $35,000 each to 12 lucky winners if the Seahawks shut out the Giants. Simple as that. So leave it to the Giants to stick it to Jet at MetLife Stadium.

"This is crazy," said Jim Johnson, one of the owners of the dealership, according to ESPN. "We never expected that we'd actually be giving away the money."

Here's how the entries for the drawing, which takes place Monday, worked leading up: People who didn't buy a car could get one entry without commitment, and those who bought a car — whether it was a jalopy or a brand-new ride — received 100 entries. The dealership will pick the 12 winners from that lot, each receiving a pile of cash.

Think about how close the Giants came to scoring on Sunday. Even though the pathetic Giants offense didn't cross midfield until late in the fourth quarter, undone by five Eli Manning interceptions. But when New York got deep in Seattle territory late, you could have understood if the defense had rested. But not this group.

The Seahawks prevented the back-door cover and forced the final Eli pick 4 yards deep in the end zone. Meanwhile, more than 2,000 miles across the country, a car dealership showroom fell silent. It was out a lot of cash.

That said, the promotion for Jet Chevrolet was well worth what it'll actually be paying out. Lucky for the dealership, it took out an insurance policy so that the promotion will only cost it $7,000. Smartest investment ever considering the pub it is getting.

And if the Seahawks win a Super Bowl, everyone up there wins.
