"December" my ass. Tonite was an opportunity for Howard to make a statement, mark his territory and instead he goosed the stat sheet and lost--at home. He's a loser, Sus. Spighting us won't change that fact.

That was the initial plan, but, now there are rumblin's in town that they'll approach MN., once the bottom falls out up there for Love. They'll offer 2 1'st's, what's his faces expiring contract (he's hurt with a bad neck) name escapes me and Goodwin. Love will be their alpha dog.

I've heard this. Whether a career loser can be an alpha is one thing. Whether the uncertainty is worth the package needed to acquire him, that's another discussion entirely.

I have my doubts Okafor/Goodwin/2 non-lottery 1sts is enough to get Love.

Maybe add Morrii and take back a bad contract, but many revere Love as a building block, and statistically, he might have priced himself out of the Suns price.

I don't care for Love, think he's a malcontent who can't lead, and a paper superstar, where statistically he is dominant, but in actuality, his impact is negated by inability to defend.

I'd gladly take him for Okafor/Goodwin/1sts, but that's just Phoenix radio huffing and puffing, I feel.

After OKC got killed in the Harden deal, I don't see Minnesota settling this early.

I heard that rumor about 10 days ago. It could be something he said based upon similar speculation. I typically agree that he's accurate in focus since he's the Suns lap dog, but he's also a fuckin idiot who wanted the Suns to draft Marshall and Len over Noel.

It isn't enough. Minnesota owns it's pick this year unless it's 14 or better, so they could keep Love, tank, draft an elite prospect, and make noise next year. They can pay him the most.

I just don't see them trading their only superstar for cash savings, Goodwin, and two 14-20 range 1sts.

The focus may not be wrong. But they'll have to overpay to land someone like Live from a team lacking other stars and who's desperate to be good again, themselves.

As to who is available, Greg Monroe is, and he's a lot cheaper for a similar skillset.

Bulls might blow their team up, so Noah/Gibson/Deng could be had.

Spencer Hawes of Philly?

None are superstars, but when are known superstars acquired via trade in their prime?

Obviously you'd get assurance from Love's people that he would sign here, and he'd be a darling match for this place. They haven't had such a white butterball to bask over since well, I can't remember the last one.

Gambo is the Suns/D'Backs/Coyotes man. These teams go thru him and he dispenses what he is told, verbatim. He didn't make this up out of whole cloth. He was direct and thorough. To his credit, I was shocked at his interview with Sarver last year when he went off on how terrible blanks had been as a gm.
I think it had a lot to do with how poorly the org handled gentry's dismissal (gentry was VERY good to the local media) and then passing over majerle for Lindsey hunter.

Blanks was the fall guy for everything bad that has happened since Day One. Sarver & Babby used him terribly and got away with it. And honestly, I think Blanks let it happen, was fully cognizant of the scheme and signed off on it.

And Hell, still once a week, like clockwork Gambo and his stooges over there at the radio station will drag Blanks out and hang him in effigy, laughing, giggling to beat the band. Motherfuckers.

Yes, its annoying. But its the same in every other city in America. I was in salt lake in spring of 07 and the media and locals had convinced themselves they could beat the Spurs in WCF. If you go to Portland it's like being surrounded by a half million tlongs.

If that bothers you, then the NATIONAL glossing of Kobe by guys like Adande and Bucher should drive you nuts too. Adande just wrote a ridiculous piece of how great Kobe played in his brief return without mentioning his horrible shooting percentage or turnovers. Bucher tried his best to sell the ridiculous narrative that Kobe had "changed" back in 2008 and Kobe rode that misinformation to an un-deserved MVP award (at the time my sig was of Kobe actually hitting Gasol and Radmonovuc in frustration).

The truth is sports "journalists" are glorified homers and fan-bases are nothing but kool-aid drinkers no matter where you go. But I'm not trying to change you. You enjoy a little schadenfreude.

Champions of fun, the Phoenix Suns.

Thats one title that can never be denied. In almost all of our eras, 76, 93, 2004, 2010, 2014... we might not win the big chip, but we are *always* the most entertaining show in the league. Hornacek has them playing right, and our offense is starting to look *really* familiar lately. I feel vindicated for all the years of defending Frye, because his spacing is key, and the chemistry he has with Dragic is huge. The twins support each other, Plumlee and Green in the same trade is like the steal of the century here, and Bledsoe is putting in work, even if its just for a contract. This return to form has been quite impressive and joyously fun. :)

Real ? is are dem Wildcats for real?

I wish this team had a Miles Simon. Holy crap that'd be awesome.

This team is legit. Their backcourt is their weaklink, as there's no true dominant wing scorer, and no true backup PG. I'm hoping York can develop some consistency as he's the cosset thing Arizona has to a true scorer/backup PG.

It's the frontcourt that dominates. ESPN has hyped Gordon, and he's great, but he might be the fourth best player in the frontcourt, including the 4-position versatility that the 6th Man, and fellow freshman Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

I don't expect perfection, but this team dominates defensively and on the boards. Opposing teams are practicing with six players or five with brooms to mimic defensive quickness/length. Offensively they dominate the glass, get to the FT line, and score in the paint. They shoot well enough. They can be beat off they aren't hitting FTs/3s AND the other team is.

That's about it. It'll happen, but with a front line of 7-0/245, 6-8/230, 6-8/215, and 6-7/215 with two 6-10/235 bigs who never even play, it's all about the skyline.

McConnell and Johnson are great starters, but the x-factor really is York, which sucks, because he's a bit of a moron.

Typically I acknowledge the luck that's required to get to a Final Four and win a Title by saying that I expect Elite 8 with chance at the others.

This team has me thinking the whole thing.

When you look back.., let Amare and Nash go was a right decision.

Making good choices now to fix a terrible mess, doesn't make the terrible mess the right decision. We could have spent the last 3 or 4 years with a *proper* reload around Nash post 2010. Trading Amare may have been the correct decision; We'll never know if the 2010 team could have returned to the WCF in 2011. Maybe keeping Marion while trading Amare for Shaq would have been the better move to make. Maybe keeping Amare to pair with Gortat would have been the move. We shall never know. Trading Dragic was a terrible move, when he could have been a 2 next to Nash while running the bench mob.
