This isn't going to work in the playoffs though. Our bench can't be this much better than our starters, they just consistently have had so much more energy to the point where I almost have more confidence in them than the starters

Spurs don't understand how to play against Houston, tbh, it starts with Pop..
- Why is Leonard guarding Harden instead of Parsons?..Harden is going to get his numbers either way..just like the game earlier in the season, Parsons is dominating and setting the tone early on against much shorter defenders in Manu and Beli..
- Why do the Spurs load the paint and leave shooters open against Houston?..it's strategical, as George Karl pointed out..
- Why don't the Spurs run plays for Harden's assignment?..
Reminds me of how we stuggled against the Hornets in the 2008 playoffs. Pop kept Bowen on Paul for most of the series allowing Peja to get hot from three. As soon as he made the adjustment to switch Bowen on Peja, we won the series. No idea why we keep putting Leonard on Harden. Bad coaching from Pop. You'd think his assistants would speak up but the new guys strike me as terrible coaches. Not a fan of that faggot Boylen with the way he convinced the FO to sign Ayres. Not a coincidence that Indiana got better after he left.

Mills > Parker
and I'm not joking
definitely not, but at least he plays collective, and even missing one after the other will not continue tossing and giving fastbreaks for opponent

Houston has a good team but no way should they be kicking our ass like the last game. No energy form out players and at this point I don't see us getting pass the second round and maybe another first round point.
We need players who can cover the three pointers and have some speed other then Green who is up and down player we don't have anyone.
Don't have the answers but my team is still fun to watch and I hope that we could work out some miracle trade or get a miracle draft player in next years draft.
Go Spurs !!!

It was the case against the Warriors last year, too..
Thompson killed the Spurs early in the series by getting open looks because the Spurs were overplaying the paint, then once Pop finally realized that Leonard could eliminate Thompson, the momentum of the series changed and Thompson didn't show up for the rest of the games..
Pop's shit doesn't stink, though, according to media and fans that don't follow the team..

I told you all 1-2 weeks ago that the Spurs defense isn't very good. Someone tried telling me - Oh but they are number 2 in the NBA behind Indiana.
The Spurs padded their defensive stats against shit teams to start the season. Against good/elite teams the Spurs have been very, very average defensively. That needs to change in a hurry, because I can't watch anymore of this shit, pathetic, weak defense.
I don't think he worked on his game even one bit over the summer.
Yes, it's becoming more evident as the season progresses. Nigga just needs to stay in the corner and stick to his fucking role: defender/spot up shooter

"What side does he drive to 99% of the time?"
"ok, why are u letting him drive left if he wants to? "

Yeah. The overall quality of coaches in the NBA is so low that the media treats Pop like a god just because he happens to be one of the few competent coaches in the league. Unfortunately, these people conveniently ignore all the times he's gotten his ass kicked by Phil or the humiliating '06 series when Avery Johnson outcoached him.

It's so pathetic that Leonard is a spot-up shooter in the Parker system, tbh..he's not a good shooter, yet his role is spot-up shooter:lol..
We have to watch games like the Warriors outing where he dominates off the dribble, but then Parker returns and Leonard reverts to spot-up shooter:lol..

Dwight wasn't playing up to his potential last year, he was mailing it in the entire season. The intentionally fouling stuff the Spurs did against him last year won't work as well this year since Houston isn't a good matchup for them in the 1st place.

Very frustrating. Parker will inevitably get shut down in the playoffs by a bigger defender so it would be nice to get Leonard more involved into the system.

I think OKC is the best defensive team in the West to be honest with you.
Not sure who is the best defensive team in the West. I just know it isn't the Spurs. I was saying that the spurs are nowhere near being an elite defensive team. They have got a lot of work to do, especially against the best teams to lay any kind of claim to being an elite defensive team.

:lol Clippers better than the Spurs
:lol Doc Rivers a great coach
:lol your takes in this thread
The Clippers w/ Rivers>Clippers w/ Del Negro
Doc Rivers knows how to make adjustments. He took the Celtics who struggled in the regular season the past 2 years and made it to the 2012 ECF where his team lost in 7 games and almost took the Knicks to a 7th game after losing the first 3 games in the 1st round last year. He also took Orlando back in 2000 who should've had the worst record in the league to an impressive .500 record.
He's not overrated at all.

Jefferson on the Spurs was a spot-up shooter. Leonard is experiencing the same thing RJ went through only Leonard isn't afraid of big moments and is a much better player than the Spurs' RJ.

Got taken to a Game 7 against the fucking Sixers just before that.
This guy was already on his way out of Boston before they were gifted Garnett and Allen.
The Clippers should be playing better with Doc right now but they still look like a soft team that has a 2nd round exit as their ceiling.

what needs to happen in the 2nd half
- force harden right. if he wants to drive right all night, then let him, but make him beat you going right. until he does that, don't play him straight up
- leave danny green on the bench
- STOP LEAVING 3 POINT SHOOTERS WIDE OPEN!!!
if we do those 3 things, we will win this game.
Agree Kawhi is a much better player on defense and rebounding. But offensively, he isn't much better.
I'm not sure about this. IMO, Leonard's ability to create from mid-range (drive and pop, better finisher at the rim...)is better than jefferson's when he played for SAS. Time will tell, though

It would be nice if Parker took a month off, tbh..
I don't think I have ever said this before, but I think I've had enough of these national teams. If I was in the NBA I wouldn't play for my national team, well, not unless it was the best competition in the world. I'd say - Sorry, the NBA is the best competition in the world and I want to win there. The NBA season is too long and I need to be ready for that. I can't afford to get tired, fatigued or injured playing in a lower level competition.
Seriously - what does it mean to you guys when your team wins one of these tournaments? You didn't play against the best players in the world and you didn't beat the best team in the world to win it. What is the point of it?
edit : I'll add that if you are a bench player and need the reps to improve your game, then I can see a case for you playing in those competitions. However, if you're an established player/star in the NBA, then I just don't see the point of playing those competitions.
Guys like Dirk, Tony, Manu, Lebron, KD, those types shouldn't play, especially with the NBA contracts they have. They are very lucky to be getting paid what they do in the NBA. They won't get that type of money anywhere else, so why do they take the chance to possibly screw their NBA team over?

This begins and ends with Tony Parker. He was a pretty good playmaker the last two years. Had a case for best PG in the league. This year, he's reverted back to old TP...the heroball chucker that refuses to pass to anyone besides TD and has trouble running a competent offense.
