dumb rotations again

lets play the only person generating offense a total of 9 minutes in the second half, including benching him in the last 7 minutes of the quarter.

also, lets play ayres even though the dude can't even throw down a damn dunk.

this loss is on pop and solely pop.

a) one that doesn't take his best player out at the end of the playoffs
b) one that doesn't take the only player generating offense out when you need to score
c) one that doesn't play scrubs in crunch time
d) one that doesn't put scrubs in down by ten with 2:30 left

Even for him, he's been bizarre this season. Diaw is often inexplicably playing 12-18 minute stretches, on a team where no one else plays more than 9-10 generally. Splitter can apparently never play more than 5-7 minutes at a time and no more than early 20's period, Ginobili can't go more than 8-9 and late 20's period (even though he's their most consistent scorer at the moment) and on top of that, he's subbing with more frequency than ever before, which is saying something given his history. Guys are in and out so quickly a lot of the time that they don't have any chance to establish a rhythm, both individually and with others.

This madness needs to stop. It's clear they need to make a trade, but in the interim, Diaw needs to start, Bonner needs to be the fourth big and in general, Pop needs to use his brain.

I agree. I don't know what he is trying to experiment with, but the rotations have been awful, and the number of games he's given up this year is higher than in previous years. You can agree or disagree with his decisions, but this is the first time I cannot even figure out what the hell he is doing. There is usually a method to his madness, but this year it has been bizarre. The sad part is that he is currently irreplaceable, so we'll have to get accustomed to the madness! :shootme

By this time last season:

The Spurs were 1-1 against OKC.
Spurs had beaten Portland IN PORTLAND on the back end of a back-to-back. Neal went off with 27 points that game.
The Spurs team showed confidence against the Miami game - AKA Popgate and the 250K scandal.
Spurs were 2-0 against Indiana.
Spurs beat Houston by 22.

This Season:
0-2 against OKC
0-2 against Houston (both losses at Home)
Lost in Portland by double digits.
Lost to Indiana at home by double digits.
6-7 to +.500 teams.
0-6 against elite playoff teams.

And LOL at closing threads criticizing the Spurs' totally pathetic play. Homers can't face the facts. It's the not the fans that are melting down, it's the Spurs.

Spurs had always had trouble playing in Portland. The team last season won and it was the back end of a back to back. Indiana still had loads of potential last season, and it was still tough to beat them at the Fieldhouse up in Indianapolis. I'll agree with Houston, but they still had Harden going off last season, alongside Parsons.

I'll agree with Houston, but they still had Harden going off last season, alongside Parsons.

The Spurs then lost the next two games against Portland in embarrassing fashion. The Portland win last November was nice, but Portland was awful last year. They had the worst bench in the league.

The Spurs didn't lose to Indiana since 2008 before this year's game and Paul George wasn't nearly the player he is now.

Spurs and Rockets always split regular games even when the Spurs are the better team.

but we really have sucked lately, we look old and slow. Were getting blown out by the good teams that well have to face eventully in the PO's.
Hopefully this is just a slump or something cuz we wont make it out the second round with the way we look..

Hope we can snap out of this.

It's becoming increasingly embarrassing to see the Spurs start games flat and with no energy whatsoever, like teams will magically just go slow and follow their pace with scoring. This isn't 90's ball, teams are pushing the ball and trying to score quickly and yet the Spurs think it's sufficient to give up 40 points and not defend the 3 pt line, everyone and I mean everyone is sagging off protecting the paint from what? This league is a jump shooting league now, I don't care if Howard goes for 30 or whatever in the paint it's the perimeter shooting where we lose.

Everyone on the Spurs is afraid to shoot the ball, they are terrified to drive into the paint and when they do they are always looking for a call. It's ridiculous to see so many of our veteran players try to get bailed out when they know they won't get the call. It's as if the Spurs are on SpursTalk and they are reading the postings that have "it's on december" they think it's okay to look like shit and give no effort thinking they can flick a switch and automatically be good. We had a great run last year and the year before but we aren't looking like the same team because the players are not looking the same. A lot of things would have to occur for us to get a viable opportunity to get a deep run again; Dwight would need to be coming back from back surgery, Westbrook would need to get hurt again, Memphis would have to get good again, and Portland would have to start to suck again. I don't see any of that happening so we obviously will have to play these teams or one of these teams in the playoffs and we can't convincingly beat them.

Dear Lakerfag=
Our team is nowhere close to yours, even without the Big 3 they can have a decent record, coming here after a regular season loss is pathetic, if I were you I would look closely to a team having DŽAntoni as coach since he should be the towel boy.
Nobody cares what you have to say here, please go to Lakernation if still online.

Lakers have a great future ahead of them I can't say the same about the Spurs. Swaggy P is so much better than your new franchise player Kawhi.

You are an absolute moron if you believe a word of that.

Spurs will not contend if Parker doesn't play well and the Spurs don't play even mediocre defense.

And, Ayers???

Yeah I believe every word I have said. Swaggy P has a better jump shot than Kawhi hence he is better. Swaggy can score when called on you can't say the same with Kawhi since he doesn't have that scorer mentality.

Yeah, it's not like Diaw is having his best year in recent memory because he found out he can actually be aggressive during FIBA ball.

Yeah, a minor improvement in a role player. Meanwhile, our MVP has regressed from one of the best players in the league to someone that gets shat on by Jeremy Lin. An upgrade in Diaw's game was not worth a major downgrade in Parker's. Another dumbass take from scrub. Not all that noteworthy though since your entire post history's full of 'em.

Better yet, remember when Johnny RIngo thought Manu was done and consistently praised how much he sucks and the FO was stupid for re-signing him. Talk about a fuckin idiot. The dude should just quit his life tbh.

My criticism of Manu were mostly for his decision to play FIBA ball last summer resulting in an overall shitty NBA season that probably cost us a title. I've criticized Parker just as much this season for the same thing(while at the same time citing Manu as the all-star of the Spurs so far). And yet, you're adamant about me being a "Manu hater". Retard.

How great can a guy be that has to make up a nickname for himself. Shot chucker seemed more appropriate...

He is a horrible player!!! Why do you think nobody has ever kept the clown? Look how horrid his shooting percentages for his career are. Leonard is still only 22. Leonard has way higher FG % yet Swaggy is better? No, that dipshit just shoots more. Oh yeah, Leonard is a much better rebounder and much better defender too.

Drunk post, tbh.

But there's still no excuse to bench your starters so early when you can come back. There's also no excuse not to play Manu, or any player for that matter, that is hot when you need to SCORE.

:lol Apparently any critical word said about this team is automatically a "meltdown", unless of course it comes from one of a select few, then it's the gospel.
and who cares about the "lords of truth," do not think anyone is here to please anyone
