What do you guys think about the prospect of Danny Green competing in the three-point shootout and Kawhi Leonard in the (Sprite) slam dunk contest? Similarly to the Bonner situation last year (in which he came in 2nd), we should start a petition and start treading our twitter. Green is one of the greatest three point shooters of all time, and Kawhi is one of the best dunkers in the game at the moment. He probably has more in your face/grill dunks than anyone except Labron.

Kawhi doesn't care enough about dunk aesthetics to want to do the dunk contest. He just goes for the right handed statue of liberty dunk every time. It works, it's efficient, but it isn't really showy.

Green for the 3 point contest seems more reasonable.

We should start a petition get Errors in the dunk competition.

After the Finals Green had it would be cool if the NBA included him in the 3 point shooting contest. As for Kawhi in the dunk contest...ummm...No.

Kawhi has one monster slam and thats it.

Green would have to have someone passing him the ball during the contest. He doesn't seem like he'd shoot a high percentage picking the ball up from the rack.

Kawhi has the wing span to dunk from the ft line, do some behind the back board stuff, and 360 windmill.

I think it would be cool that have a couple of Spurs player in Saturday night. Especially Leonard.

Kawhi actually can't jump that high... he just has long arms. They're the only reason he can dunk at all.

And Danny can't make 3's under pressure. We all know this.

Said the same of Bonner, but he had a great contest last year.

Danny and Marco deserves to be in this contest tbh. Green missed out last year when he should have been there...Surely after the finals performce, he deserves a spot..No? or maybe he's not popular enough still.

Leonard is not a good dunker..he's got average hops.

I agree with Danny, but Kawhi doesn't have the hops to be in a slam dunk contest.

How about have a "hold on to the fucking ball" contest? Or a "defend the fucking rim" contest?

Kawhi dunk contest? Not a chance. :lol

Marco should be in the 3-point contest, though, tbh....

Maybe 3 point contests but none of that really matters...I'd rather have the Spurs rest and get 1 for the Thumb!

Green, Belli, and Bonner all should be in the 3-point contest tbh.

True. His max vert measured at the combine was 32" and Danny Green's vert was 33".

How about a new contest? I call it 6. Your team is handed the ball up 5 points with 28 seconds to go, all you have to do is secure the lead.

Actually, a block contest could turn out to be really entertaining.

Show pony events. They almost never pick a Spur for the 3pt contest, and I think they have ACTUALLY never picked a Spur for the dunk contest.

Dunk contest: where D leaguers and rookies compete to see who can miss the most dunks, and where the winner is often someone who might not even be in the league next year.

3pt contest: When you cannot defend.

I like to check out the skills challenge, tbh... The dunk contest is now pretty terrible, IMO. The huge amount of commercials don't help it either.

I think the mistake is mistaking that all basketball fans are die hards like you and most people on these boards. The number of casual fans greatly outnumber the die-hards, and to the causal fan, it's still appealing.

I love the 3 point contest tbh. The dunk contest has lost some of the magic, hit or miss, but when the contest hits it hits hard. I think last year's was one of the worst ever...

The three-point contest is excellent. The skills challenge is fun.

The dunk contest is typically garbage, though, tbh.

Spurs had 2 former Dunk Champions on their Roster.

A nice showing from Green could bump up his trade value. I think he deserves a slot for beating Allen's 3 pt finals record.

Completely irrelevant. They didn't compete as Spurs because the league can't sell us. They have no idea how to market good basketball, only personalities.
