5 Titles is nothing to scoff at, still far more than any other modern day Superstar. Even if he gets 6, which I don't think he will due to the limitations set by the Laker management, he will probably play a much lesser role.

I agree....in order to get 6 Kob needs to be part of the team and not lead it...however, I'd rather him stay at 5 than for Lebron to help him get 6

The bet coat tailing "superstar" since Havlicek.

The most memorable moment for Havlicek wa him stealing the ball and running out time.

The most memorable moment for Kobe was shooting 6-24 and getting the finalsMVP.

It would be nice to see him close out his career as a champion on a facilitator/scorer role again, similar to that Shaq-Kobe dynasty but I just don't know how they'll get another franchise altering Superstar with that cap space. There aren't too many options left. Mitch has been quiet lately, maybe he has a few more tricks under his sleeve.

I have been a member in the Clippers Top.Buzz forum since 2007. Every real Clippers fan bandwagoned the Lakers at one point, given their history, it's understandable. I also don't hide the fact that I like Kobe, just like some reasonable posters here also likes players that doesn't play for their team (Harlem/Lebron, Jamstone/Kobe etc)

Nowadays, It's fashionable to be a Clippers fan so all of a sudden we see "Die hard" Clippers fans come out of the woodwork but in reality, real Clippers fans are very few pre Blake Griffin and Chris Paul era, not surprisingly, it was in 2009 when that site saw an increase of registrants :lol

Kool, brother. I also believe Kobe is done. I hate the fact that he's going to retire with just 5 Nba championships, 2 Finals MVP, multiple All Nba selections, 3rd in all time scoring list, most total points in playoff history, player of the decade recognition, the respect of his peers, almost a billion dollars in assets, a nice picture perfect family and the adoration of literally a billion people worldwide and as a bonus he has one more thing Lebron will never have, a charisma to pull any kind of pussy everywhere he goes:lol

This is one of the worst takes I have ever seen on ST. Honestly. It's really, really bad.

1) 5 is not far more than 4. That is just a ridiculous thing a Kobe fan would say.

2) "Which I don't think he will due to the limitations set by Laker management"? :lol Limitations set by Laker management? You mean the Laker management that has built contenders for forever but hitched their wagon to the worst ahole in the league. The Laker management that saved Kobe's dwindling legacy by getting Gasol. I thought Kobe wouldn't win because he's breaking down, plays selfish basketball so he can chase records & no one wants to team up with him. I thought Kobe wouldn't win because he took a cap killing contract instead of working with his limitations/dwindling abilities to allow LA to get better pieces.

In two sentences, you have literally written one of the dumbest Kobe fan post on ST.

1. 5 is far more than 4 given the condition that surrounds the circumstances. You speak of winning championships as if it's as easy as getting into an All Star Game, getting a first seed or even winning a regular season MVP. I don't think you understand the magnitude of how hard it is to win a title in the league. The difference of 1 title is remarkably huge in the grand scheme of things. One title is the difference between someone like Barkley, Malone and Ewing not getting the respect they deserve in their HOF'er career.

2. The limitations was set by the Laker management . They came up with the numbers of $48,000,000 to begin with clearly overvaluing the business aspect of the whole equation. You do understand that, the management not the fans, not Kobe or his agent made that ultimate decision, correct?

Of course I'm concerned with the field. I have many enemies and few road blocks. I want no part of your crew, the Clippers, the Rockets in the WC Finals. I'd like the Thunder, or, Portland to come out Vs. say over there anybody save Indiana and Boston. A Finals pitting Thunder/Portland VS. Atlanta would be like a dream come true.

This has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever seen. The only other thing I have seen that is more stupid is your original post I quoted tbh..5 is far more than 4 :lmao. It's the closest you can get no matter the circumstances you dummy. One title is an argument idiots that are pedo's (like Thread supposedly) use because they have no actual arguments.

So the bandwagon Kobe fan is telling people they don't understand how hard it is to win a title. Ok.

Kobe has always demanded a max contract and never taken 1 cent less. Not only that, Kobe very publicly stated that he would not take a pay cut using his media friends as the mouth piece. If you think the Lakers management just came up with a number without talking to Kobe's people, you really are dumb and not just in the online sense. The fact is, Kobe knows what this contract does to his chances. If he cared about winning, he wouldn't have signed a contract that keeps him the highest paid player in the NBA. He would have done what other winners without ego's do and say "what is the plan, limitations and ideas on how to best win".

The fact is Kobe knows dummies like you will never blame him for anything and he can suck up money and chase records while not paying defense.

I think you're missing the point SPG, the Lakers are under NO obligation to offer Kobe that kind of money. At the end of the day, Buss and his party came up with the decision to offer that $. They could've waited until the contract expires and see how it all unfolds but they didn't.

You can call Kobe out for being an athlete that seeks for his financial outlook but most of this is the management's fault for being so shortsighted.

And people should stop counting these athletes pockets, none of it is your money:lol

What does that have to do with anything? No matter how much you want to troll, you know that I don't troll and I drop just truth bombs. No, they didn't have to pay Kobe anything like you said, but that proves my point. Kobe held them hostage. He knew what he wanted, wanted it now before they saw him play (good move because he's breaking down it appears) and held them hostage. From a business perspective, not basketball, it made sense for LA.

Deeps, I ain't changing. I'm open to serious discussion like you proposed at any time. Just because I bust balls doesn't mean I'm not available to discuss on a serious level. The problem is you guys can dish it, but, you cannot take it. Ipso facto, you run a trap play on me in a serious discussion because you lost last June. There is a difference in busting balls and doing what you do. You not only have no respect for the owners that took you in and for the most part let you be, you have proven you don't have any interest in community and raising the standard of the boards in which you participate. Of course we can take it. Of course we dish it. The difference is in your warped mind that "not taking it" means we aren't ok with non-stop 24 hour trolling which is what you do. We all make fun of each other. Sometimes for long periods of time, but there is always a clear path back to serious discussion (by serious, I mean thought out basketball discussion even if it's laced with jokes).

Bringing up June in every argument is childish, foolish and gets you caught up in traps. You tangle yourself in your own webs. That's not "giving it". That's being an idiot.

Your takes have fallen off lately. Not only did you not man up and apologize to me for mocking me in the first quarter, you started talking about Karma cause you caught feelings (when Laker fans literally mock injuries, stab people and riot and ruin the city) in addition to saying "this" when he says "5 is far more than any other modern day Superstar". :lol Since when did 5 become "far more" than 4?

Everything ok? You are taking the unbelievable fall from grace of Kobe Bryant really hard..

Wtf are you talking about?
What first quarter?
And why would I apologize for mocking you?!
I give you plenty of complimentary posts if I mocked you I'm guessing you deserved it, because some of your posts ain't been all that hot lately. I am fine btw as you should know I am rooting for the tank. Did not notice the "far more" but who cares? I agree with the premise if not the prose verbatim.
I am done arguing Kobe's legacy and him getting 6 means little to me ... I want a top 3 pick and I want 17 and 18 before Celts rang again if Kobe is not a part of that oh well. If he is that much better

Killa, my dude, you mocked my Kobe theory when he went down and they played the Wolves. They were getting beat early and you said "theory blown" then they went on to win :lol. You just bailed on me after that...

Makes sense if you didn't see the "far more" part. You're my dude, but it seems like when Kobe went down again you got really irritated.

Dpg Kobe's injury doesn't affect my mood because I still disagree with your theory. Sample size is too small. But dantoni has done a great job. And they do run his system better without Kobe but especially with a healthy Pg which was my original point. Wolves. Won why do you deserve an apology? You were right about that game ...yet Lakers lost to the worst team in the West soon after ...
I had shit to do so I didn't see all that game or post here but if it makes you feel better you were right that night ...

Why do I care what other Laker fans think? The best man in my wedding and I argue this constantly. He hates the tank word I said fine rebuild. I dont root for us to lose in fact if the game is close I root for us to win but that is my heart, my head knows a playoff appearance is the absolute last thing THIS Lakers team needs.they hustle play a fan appealing uptemp style ...as ling ad they are competitive but lose I don't like it but accept it. We haven't been contenders in 3 years ...need to bottom out this year and rebuild.
Most Laker fans can't accept the hard truth

Please. Any other team and we'd be absolutely inundated with vows to avenge 6. Neat little stories of bravura and deep seated longings to make right what had been torn asunder. But, you can't write those stories, or, make those vows, because in real time it never happened. Sure, I shoved/shove you ceaselessly, but, I'm the only one who ever laid a hand on ya's. Hell, Media was so fucking happy they left you completely alone. God dropped that LOB into Florida independent and gloriously.

Now, here is the kicker:::f it gets there again, and it's ANYBODY across the way cept Miami, God's closet will be thrown open and the vows and bravura will be dragged out and post dated. Miami won't be mentioned, or, at least castigated, you'll rise from the ashes of your own makings.

Ah, fuck it!

From 1979-1992
Magic won 5 titles plus a NCAA championship
2 MVP awards when the award was legit
Was also in the Finals in 1983, 1984 1989 and 1991
Magic was contending for a title every year except 1981 1986 and 1990 ..think about that.
Pg for dream team ...

I'm not here to bash Magic...I love him...(no homo) but I need more convincing....college titles don't count AT ALL.... I rate MVP's along with ASG accolades which is moot....

Kobe was in the finals in 03 and 10 and didn't win...you don't get credit for losing....you only get credit for 5...just as Kobe....but Kobe has him beat in the other intangibles....such as shooting, defense, mid and low post games, had better range..the only thing Magic was better than Kobe at is passing and setting teammates up...Magic was the overall better leader but Kobe was the better player...but then again it was the very nature of their jobs...one a PG and the other a SG....

the good thing about it is...they're both on my Squad

lol..ok back to the issue here...while Magic played with Kareem he never played with a ball dominant and demanding player like Shaq....Magic took from Kareem what Kobe took from Shaq....Shaq and Kobe could have 5 peated had Shaq been dedicated...so they won 3 and Kobe went off and got those extra two....Magic never won without Kareem

I think it's because you waste too much mental energy trying use creative jargon instead of just talking. You think it makes you sound intelligent, but it's just a smoke screen for your lack of general basketball knowledge or concern.

Maybe set aside the worn out euphemisms and just use common prose.

5 titles is crazy, most players get one or two if any... If you hit that 3 and up in titles man you can smile for the rest of your life becuase most won't see that. If he odesn't get another one he has had a career most would die for. Tim was 28 seconds away as most said from that 5th, that is hard to get. In all reality hats off 5 titles is crazy.

I don't hate like some idiots in here who hate on either Kobe or Tim etc. I respect a legend when I see one.
