Cleveland Browns coach Rob Chudzinski has been axed. How many more before the day is over?

Jim Schwartz ought to be out the door in Detroit.

Browns fans are up in arms about Chud being fired. That's because Browns fans are perfectly satisfied with going 4-12 or 5-11 every year.

Shanahan has gotta go. Dude is shit.

Hopefully Garrett is out in Dallas.

Rex is staying in NY though. I've always thought he was a good coach. Almost made the POs with curious Geno tbh.

Allegedly there is a 9am press conference tomorrow to announce the decision. No more retreads who were good 15 years ago. Espn 980 is reporting that we are talking to cowher which would be fuckin retarded

bring in someone hungry like obrian, bevell, jay gruden etc

Sucks for SD that the Texans can't interview Jizz this week and force SD to find a competent coordinator :lol

I can't say I blame Browns fans for being up in arms over Chudzinski if they plan on replacing him with a proven failure at head coach.

Firing a coach after one season is pretty stupid imo. Even Pat Shurmur got two years in Cleveland. If Hoyer doesn't tear his ACL Cleveland probably has its best season since 2007.

Yeah, but should he have?

Obviously they need to get the guy they really want (and I think they really want Bill O'Brien.) But Chudzinski did not do a good job this year. Even with the QB issues this should have been at least a 6-7 win team. They lost their last seven, 10 of their last 11, got beat down twice by a Pittsburgh team that wasn't even all that good... just bad all around. And they flat-out quit in the final two games.

I just think people in Cleveland have gotten complacent with losing. And unfortunately that includes a lot of the players as well. Someone needs to change the culture here. I really think the problem goes beyond just talent.

Glad to see Schiano AND Dominik gone. But I hope they can get a stable regime in Tampa now. Probably the team that would benefit most from a retread.

They're my NFC team, the team I'd want the Ravens to face every year in the Super Bowl. My father was a big-time Bucs fan in the Dungy era. So I still follow them closely.

I think they fired Sherman as well, the O.C. After finally loosening up the pocket book, the team still underachieved so it was only a matter of time I agree.

I think Darrell Bevell and Dan Quinn are gone from the Seahawks' roster as soon as the run ends. I wouldn't be surprised if one or the other doesn't stay though, so hopefully they only lose one.

Dennis Allen officially survived and will be back for another year. I'm not his biggest fan, but he hasn't exactly had talent to work with. I like this simply on the grounds that i'm tired of having a new coach every 2 years.

Spur-Addict
01-08-2014, 12:37 PM
Yeah, at some point you have to stick with a guy for a while for the sole purpose of trying to establish some sort of stability. I think a 3-4 four year stint is max. If there is no real progression by year three, then that's it from my point of view.

spurraider21
01-08-2014, 12:51 PM
i agree. its just hard to gauge anything he has done with how shitty our roster is. we have about 70 million in cap room and a full draft class for once, so its make or break time for the current regime

Who did you think was the best of their recent coaches? Idk why but I was a Tom Cable fan, he was the one I think they should have kept.

Hue Jackson 10/10

he was a great coach but a shitty interim gm which is what got him fired. Well that and when he threw the players under the bus after losing to San Diego week 17. Cable was like a Marc Jackson, being an inspirational speaker who let assistants like hue (at the time the OC) do all the work

DeadlyDynasty
01-09-2014, 01:44 AM
Tom Cable was the shit, tbh. Went 6-0 in his division and was a wifebeater--consumate Raider

spurraider21
01-09-2014, 02:13 AM
Cable wasn't really that good until he was stripped of playcalling and hired Hue Jackson to run the offense. Cable is a beast offensive line coach though.

DeadlyDynasty
01-09-2014, 02:21 AM
Didn't Hue lose a win-and-you're-in game against the hapless Chargers at home?

spurraider21
01-09-2014, 02:55 AM
Yes he did. The team was 7-4 and lost 4 of their last 5 games to close the season, including that game against San Diego where we didn't force a singe punt. In the post-game conference he said something along the lines of "the coaches can only do so much, the players have to play better." He got fired shortly after, and Tebow went on to win a playoff game. Hubert wasn't perfect, but he was easily the best coach we've had since Gruden, and I don't think that's even a question.

I think Cable went 4-12 in his first season, Hue was hired as OC and took over playcalling. We went 8-8 that year (6-0 in division), McFadden broke out, and Jason Campbell was playing the best football of his career. Hue was going to become a head coach after the way he turned our offense around in one season (didn't hurt that it was also the year Russell left). The Raiders canned Cable and promoted Hue in order to keep him on our staff. We started 4-2, Campbell went down, and since Al Davis was dead, Hue was the defacto GM and did that horrendous Palmer trade, which actually almost salvaged our season.

Hue Jackson the coach had the team going in the right direction. Hue Jackson the GM was retarded

Jay gruden to Washington. If he can develop griffin like he did with an average QB talent in dalton I'll be happy. His offense in his three seasons there ranked 18, 12, and 6. IMO we have more pieces on offense than cincy as well. Not the sexiest hire but I'm glad our GM actually went through a process and interviewed 12 different names.

Bummed that they're keeping that piece of shit coordinator haslett on staff (for now) tho

spurraider21
01-09-2014, 12:10 PM
With Gruden moving out, Hue Jackson is expected to be promoted to offensive coordinator in Cincinnati (his 2nd stint in that position). Hue is rising the ranks again. I think after a few years he'll get another head coaching gig. Hue got McFadden to break out, and got Darrius Heyward-Bey to put up 975 yards in 15 games. Denarius Moore/Jacoby Ford were thriving in his time in Oaktown as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Bengals offense took a step forward. As long as Hue keeps his ego in check, he'll be a head coach candidate in 2-3 years
