View Full Version : Tony Parker Anti-Semite? Nazi?

Skull-1

I know the French are notorious for having strong anti-Semitic leanings among a significant portion of their population (just look at ElNono and his pals Brazil and PlayNando) and they were great at collaborating with the Germans (Vichy France), but is Tony like that? How can he be so dumb?

TP is not in hot waters at all, the quenelle was done by everybody tbh... Boris did it as well. The biggest French A listers did it...

Why this became an issue is because things escalated between Dieudonné the humorist who came up with the gesture and the French zionists. The French zionists have been pressuring the governement to shut Dieudonné up basically and the politics jumped at the opportunity they got with Anelka who is one of the most hated people in France... They got so zealous they used the word "antisemite" and not simply antizionist or anti establishment like it was meant so now we have a woridwide news covering this stuff because of a few over zealous ministers...

Below is the quenelle not shocking anybody one year ago :

http://www.slate.fr/sites/default/files/photos/midilibre.jpg

This stuff is so ridiculous tbh... We're talking about a gesture that means "up your ass"...

To put the gesture in context, here's a link of how widespread it has become in France/Europe lately and the disgusting anti-semitic nature of it (dozens of social media-style pictures taken in front of Jewish sites).

http://k00ls.overblog.com/2013/12/pour-ceux-qui-prétendent-que-la-quenelle-n-est-pas-un-geste-antisémite.html

In short, the gesture has effectively become the modern day nazi salute. How much does Tony Parker know this and express this, is the question, and should he make any kind of statement (I'm not saying he should, but it probably would be good to disassociate from what the gesture implicates if bad PR steadily grows). No doubt Anelka knew what he was doing, but Parker's pictures look more like photo-op type shots. Either way, there should be no room for crap like this on a soccer field or basketball court. Parker has always seemed like a douche, imo, though I try not to focus too much on players off the court lives. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, but it's wack none the less.

Brilliant. Just brilliant. You assume that Stern is gonna 'shekelstein' a team for Parker's gesture and people in here think PARKER is a racist?????

You are the racist for assuming that Stern (who will be gone by the time of the next finals anyway) would act in way that you describe as characteristic of some kind of jewish thing. I don't even know that a 'shekelstein is', but that is probably because I'm not a racist.

The thing is this gesture DOES NOT mean anything BUT "Take your bullshit up your ass!"... The guy who created this (more than 10 years ago!), Dieudonné, is an anti-racist who did not accept the fact that we basically have to hear about the Shoah everyday but when you want to talk about slavery nobody listens... The Zionist community here in France decided this gesture was antisemite (the first guy who tried to give a definition is A.Jakubowicz), so the media followed... As simple as that. We used to make fun here in France a few years ago that there was no more freedom of press in your country and we're finally seeing it happen here too...

The quenelle gesture exists for years now and I find it funny to see how people want to give it another meaning. The Quenelle is a anti system gesture which could be translated as: "take it in your ass bitch"

Dieudonné, the Quenelle father, is a very funny humorist who made a anti-zionist sketch more than 10 years ago on the French TV. He became instantly the public enemy N°1 in France. Problem is: over the years, he went from being anti-zionist (which is completely fine by me) to being anti semitic.

He made, years ago, a sketch on French TV against Israel colonies and became instantly the Public Enemy N°1. Before that, he used to attack and mock everyone. As soon as he realised that making fun of jews was quite sensitive, he decided to attack them, and them only. That is a stupid, childish reaction and I regret it deeply since he is/was the funniest french humorist by far.

For those Americans who aren't familiar, one of the things Dieudonné is famous for is saying that it's a shame the ovens aren't in operation anymore. Unlike some of the jackasses who try to deny the Holocaust, he acknowledges that human beings were put into gigantic ovens and cremated alive. He just thinks it makes for a suitable joke. And there is absolutely ZERO chance that Parker has not heard the "comedy" routine, which means that he, too, thought it was suitable for a joke. You doubt it? Why was Parker making the gesture? It's because he was joking with Dieudonné about his comedy.

One thing you should know about Parker's "statement" from earlier today - those aren't his words. That statement was crafted for him, and put into his hands to read. The Spurs organization thinks this ends things, but they're wrong. Until Parker denounces Dieudonné for the racist, anti-Semite that he is, all he has done is say that he doesn't want to be in hot water over the incident. My bet is that he isn't going to do that. So if you're a Spurs fan, be prepared for the shit to keep coming up. Even the person who crafted the response thinks it's distasteful.

For those trying to deny the meaning of the gesture - even Parker's statement acknowledges what it is. He just says that he "didn't know it" until recently. So don't play the game that it is a harmless gesture that means something else. I will admit that some people are just copying what they see, and don't know what they are doing. But a lot of them do. Have a look at the off-hand (the one pointing downward) of the people doing it. Some of them are relaxed, but many of them have the stiff, flattened hand that used to be part of the Nazi salute - just pointed downward. Look at that picture of Obama doing it. As much as I dislike O, he doesn't have a clue what he's doing. But notice Jay Z's rigid hand and arm? That fucker isn't brushin' the dirt off.

Are you actually calling Ginobili a nazi? Really? Is that the kind of person you are? Somebody makes mistakes in a ball game and you accuse them of perpetrating the worst crimes against humanity? Really? Or do you think that because you have a user name that has some significance in the Spurs' lore you are entitled to dish out the greatest insult? Comparing turn overs to nazi behaviour? Is this what this site has become?

By the way, Parker did this 3 years ago, a 28 years old athlete having fun on a night out. Yes, if the sign has that meaning then it was wrong for him to do it. But does anybody really believes that Tony thought "oh, I am out, having fun, I should make a stand against Judaism!" All I can hope is that this is a trolling thread posted to annoy all Parker fans.

Obviously it's not Parker's words, it's completely PR damage control, and Parker is pleading ignorance, however it's still important for him to "speak out" against the gesture and its growing popularity as a symbol for anti-semitisim. Once the picture became circulated as something controversial, almost entirely because of Anelka, Parker (and his management) was relatively quick to distance himself from it and say he will "never do it again". Which is good, at least. What's irking though is that Parker has done it different times, saw a clip of him doing it at the end of some kind of interview or video, but at the same time there's no need for a witch hunt. He deserves a chance to explain himself (which he did), and if he's smart he'll stay far away from anything that may isolate him from his fans or money-making ventures. In the mean time, this stuff, this bigoted/racist symbolism, is rightly being called out.

Parker seem to just be mimicing that comedian guy who was doing it since he was with him and posing for a picture. I believe him when he said he didn't know what it actually meant. Gotta give people the benefit of the doubt for first time offenses on things, especially for something like an ambiguous gesture.

Who said Dieudonné was either racist or antisemitic when he did the "Cohen & Bokassa" sketch years ago?... Nobody... But he would somehow be a sudden antisemitic? Please, try to think a little people... He attacks all forms of communautarism... Though, I often think he goes too far in his criticisms (which may have led some to think he's racist) but hey the guy has always been like that, you won't tell him what to think or what to say... "Freedom of speech" is his motto.

On 14 June 2006, Dieudonné was sentenced to a penalty of 4,500 Euro for defamation after having called a prominent Jewish television presenter a "secret donor of the child-murdering Israeli army".[69] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dieudonn%C3%A9_M%27bala_M%27bala#cite_note-69)
On 15 November 2007, an appellate court sentenced him to a 5,000 Euro fine because he had characterized "the Jews" as "slave traders" after being attacked in his theater le Théâtre de la Main d'Or.[70] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dieudonn%C3%A9_M%27bala_M%27bala#cite_note-70)
On 26 June 2008, he was sentenced in the highest judicial instance to a 7,000 Euro fine for his characterization of Holocaust commemorations as "memorial pornography".[29] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dieudonn%C3%A9_M%27bala_M%27bala#cite_note-lefigaro.fr-29)
On 27 February 2009, he was fined 75,000 Canadian dollars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_dollar) in Montreal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montreal) for defamatory statements against the singer and actor Patrick Bruel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Bruel) after he called him a "liar" and an "Israeli soldier".[71] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dieudonn%C3%A9_M%27bala_M%27bala#cite_note-71)
On 26 March 2009, Dieudonné was fined a total of 3,000 Euros for defamation after having criticised Elisabeth Schemla, a Jewish journalist who ran the now defunct Proche-Orient.Info website. He declared on 31 May 2005 that the website wanted to "eradicate Dieudonné from the audiovisual landscape" and had said of him that "he's an anti-Semite, he's the son of Hitler, he will exterminate everyone".[72] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dieudonn%C3%A9_M%27bala_M%27bala#cite_note-72)
On 27 October 2009, he was sentenced to a fine of 10,000 Euros for "public insult of people of Jewish faith or origin" related to his show with Robert Faurisson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Faurisson).[73] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dieudonn%C3%A9_M%27bala_M%27bala#cite_note-73)
On 8 June 2010, he was sentenced to a fine of €10,000 for defamation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defamation) towards the International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_League_against_Racism_and_Anti-Semitism), which he had called "a mafia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia)-like association that organizes censorship".[74] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dieudonn%C3%A9_M%27bala_M%27bala#cite_note-74)
On 10 October 2012, he was fined €887,135 for tax evasion. According to the French revenue service, Dieudonné failed to pay part of his taxes from 1997 to 2009.[

Interesting. Be anti a specific religion is now political?
So if I am anti-black, anti-homosexual, anti-catholic, anti-abortion...
The root form of opposition of a specific group within society is usually cowardice. The white separatist movement within the USA which was active in places like Boston not that long ago (30 years ago) is a good example. Fear based on ignorance whipped up by stupidity.

I change some words for you. You can see that if you change the words it sounds a lot more moronic and... racist. Now I'll ask you one thing: what makes people racist? The people they target or a biased way to think and a inclination to absurd generalizations?

You're lucky that they're not word, yet, for anti-French, like it exists for anti-Semitism, racism, anti-Americanism. Just call yourself moron would be OK. But it's quite the same thing. Contempt, hate, towards a particular group, supposed sharing same disgraceful characteristics, coming from someone of the offender's own group regarding each as members sharing characteristics supposedly "good". Biased way to think and inclination to absurd generalizations.

You are a complete moron. Nowhere on earth can any person, of any race, creed, origin, sex, color, etc. rise as high and be treated with as much dignity and respect as in the United States. I judge people for what they do not what they look like, and the overwhelming majority of supposedly-racist non-minority Americans believe the same way.

My heroes are of all colors, races, nationalities, etc. Pierre Clostermann, Georges Guynemer, and Marcel Dassault are three French I can name that I respect, among many (you probably don't even know who those mentioned are), including my roommate in flight school and his dad.

Since he started doing stealth nazi salutes. Combine that with the obvious Vichy connection and Parker's repeated immaturity.... Well. There ya' go.

Sorry for my hesitant English, I belong to another group called "soft French".

Being called "bigot" by an American (or whatever group you belong) is quite epic.

France, like many countries, has had periods of great enlightenment and of the reverse. Jews in France were emancipated before any other European country and they and France prospered as a result. At the same time France has a history of social social upheaval and progroms from well before the revolution (e.g. the Huguenot expulsion - which is part of my own family history), to Roma etc etc. At the present time France is experiencing a great influx of immigrants from prior colonies and the opinions they bring influence the social dialogue. Since many of these countries are Arabic speaking the social dialog they bring is 'Jews = bad' or 'jews vs Muslims'. Recall that in many prior colonies the education is not good and the media dominated by such messages. The fact that there have been more muslims killed in Syria in the past year than the troubles in Israel in the past 25 years will escape the media attention as it does not suit their message.
As far as the USA being non-racist...well this is a sad reflection of a poor education. The USA has the highest ratio of incarceration per capita and 80% will most likely be men of color. There are also states with mandatory life sentences for crimes that including sentencing children. That said many love the USA for the potential it has, not for it's current situation. Just like France it used to be a country of enlightenment, but from the other side of the world it too seems to be under fire from within and from structural problems from within. The Christian conservative movement is perplexing to the rest of the world and the Tea Party movement, funded by the Koch brothers (who could buy the whole of the supposed 'jewish lobby' 100 times over), simply alarms the rest of the world.
My own country is NOT immune from similar observations, it is not easy to confront and it will be harder to overcome, but we know what is right and victimization of any group based on prejudice is wrong. Sure if a individual is doing wrong then they should get their just desserts, but not a group.
As far as TP goes - lets face it TP has been a bit of a dick, a fool, a dullard and far less than we would like to see in a Spurs player. TP has form in such things, e.g. Barry's wife springs to mind. Hopefully he will learn and move on.

No, Americans are strong at kicking the Germans out of France. :lol

And I am 6'4 240 lbs. If you hit me you would break your tiny French hand. Stfu, loser. :lmao

France has a long-time reputation for being a racist, bigoted nation (not all French are that way obviously) and you know it. America has evolved away from that. Now most of the racists here are not even white. Oh the irony. :rollin

Linking fighting Indians to anti-Semitism? Fail! :lmao

Of course you can. But whatever your color, you have more opportunity and greater acceptance in the USA than anywhere else. To say otherwise is pure ignorance. (And for these French clowns to thumb their nose at us when we are the most tolerant people on earth is a just about the most ironic thing ever seen. The only thing more hypocritical is listening to Mexico call USA immigration policy inhumane. :lol )

The poster before you doubles down on this stupidity by citing incarceration rates. Well, when a particular group, whatever it may be, happens to remain Balkanized by choice, celebrates thug culture, and is pandered to by everyone.....commits crimes against its "own people" and against every other group at rates ten times higher than the reverse.... Well....sorry to say, that group will be in jail more.

Men are incarcerated at a higher rate than women for rape. Is that sexism? Laughable stupidity.

Poor education? Physician heal thyself!

The rest of the world can suck it. The Tea Party, which I am proudly a member of, seeks fiscal responsibility by our government...by, of, and for the PEOPLE. Let us see how alarmed the world is when there is no USA to maintain stability and protect the shipping lanes because we are bankrupt. See how you like it when China calls the shots. Obviously euro trash media is just as pathetic as the US's.

"DONT SPEND MORE THAN YOU TAKE IN, GOVERNMENT. (P.S. - YOU ARE TOO BIG AND TOO POWERFUL. YOU ENCROACH ON OUR LIBERTY.)" What a horrific message! The horror! Run away! Run away!

Well, there is a disagreement about this sign being Nazi related. I think it's legit to wonder, when someone doing a sign that is maybe an hidden Nazi salute, if he doesn't share the Nazi ideology.

Being a legit question doesn't mean that there is an obvious answer. Parker isn't for sure a Nazi and he hasn't done that gesture with the Nazi salute in mind.

For the antisemitism part, I think that if you're truly against any kind of discrimination, you don't go at a Dieudonné and associate your public image to his. Parker is not antisemitic but he also isn't in a state where he considers that antisemitism he something he should fight.

For the rest, I agree that half this thread is disgusting. It has also run it course and talks have switched to subjects that should be in the political forum.

I'm closing the thread, you can continue to talk about that kind of subject in the political forum:
