View Full Version : Blazers: Is Portlan in trouble?

They've give up 109 points per game over the last 8, and that's not including tonight where they have given up 98 points to the Pelicans with 6 minutes to play.

Tlong nowhere in sight. Probably drinking heavily.

They run a gimmick system, there's virtually no chance that they'll sustain their record until April, tbh..

Anyone not named tlong knew this was going to progressively happen throughout the season.

Blazers are not top seed material.

Portland is still a top 5 team in the West, barring a major injury.

Agreed, but the way they're playing, they might not even get a top 4 seed. Just dismal defense.

Think it's a case of the starters starting to wear down or offenses catching up to what the Blazers are doing to cut corners on D?

Their starters are being worn down before the all stars break where other teams begin ramping it up. This will not bode well for the Blazers, but they will make the playoffs as a top 4 seed regardless. I see them overachieving and being bounced in 2nd round after a 6-7 game series.

Uh, they're December champions. Nothing else matters.

They never were a threat to begin with.

They're like the 2011 Spurs. They're gonna wear down and teams will figure out a way to stop their offense.

This is what happens when you try to demand top end respect, you can't sneak up on anyone anymore. Tyreke going balls deep for the win

Guest team in the West beginning to overstay their welcome tbh.

No bench, fluke shooting, a defense that gets exposed once it's known like it is now, relying on starters to play big minutes.

Not a surprise!

What a fun game and cold blooded game winner by Evans. Holiday's 4th quarter performance is the reason that the Pelicans won. Holiday, Davis, and Evans were great. The Pelicans are also showing that they don't need Eric Gordon to win, so it's about time that they put him back on the market.

blazers are fool's gold but I kinda wish they could remain #1 or top 3 at least come the end of regular season so we can take them on for the first round, and cruise to the 2nd round easily

Blazers are the reverse Denver Nuggets of last year. Nuggets were a middle of the pack team, who went on a huge winning streak late in the season and finished 3rd in the West, they lost Gallo to a torn ACL and were outed in the first round.

Blazers have had a great first half of the season, they'll cool down and finish somewhere around 3-5 barring major meltdown, and will probably lose one of their key players to a season-ending injury. They'll probably face Phoenix in the 1st round and they'll lose in 5-6.

I think this season's nuggets are a replication of the Blazers of the past years, talented young team that's hampered by injuries. Nugs and blazers are both pathetic franchises anyway

That expression is awesome, I laugh every time I see it.
It doesn't work in Spanish.

LMAO at the possibility of the Blazers losing to the Suns in the 1st round. That would be a horrible way to end your season. To have such a great start to a season only to have it end in the first round to a team that was supposed to suck ass and be in rebuilding/tank mode. That would be sad.

Marinating is almost a compliment, I'm not sure if I'd go that far. He has always been the same player in my opinion, not much of a change in any direction. His jumpshot may have marginally improved, if that. But I'm not going to look up the stats on that LOL

His early years wouldn't indicate being afraid. Lazy, perhaps. Although they did shuffle that lineup quite a bit, and the coaching situation was abysmal in his stint in Sacto. Everyone knew the inmates ran that asylum at the time. Monty has a grip on things, so he has to play a certain way, or, he doesn't play at all. So it was probably a mixture of laziness, seeing the writing on the wall, and just being in a bad mix/stew/gumbo/soup of a roster/organization.

Good stuff, Addict. & he got heavy in the Deron William's prototype.

Thanks.

I can definitely see where you're going with the D-Will comparison, although that jumper needs to improve. I think Evans is much better at absorbing contact in the paint, and finishing among trees based on just the eye test. And obviously Williams is a better perimeter player. For existing players, I lean more towards a less athletic Wade with his body type and skill set (And obviously worse jumper).
