The Bucks suck. I was really thinking it was going to be them and the Bobcats in the ECF. They have definitely been disappointing. The Lakers are just a train wreck. But hey at least they don't have Dwight Coward anymore.

Wouldn't shipping off Pau save the Lakers over 20 mil in luxury tax?

Lakers are projected to pick #9 at this point. No way they get Wiggins or Parker at #9.

It's pie-in-the-sky. Kobe hasn't the "time" NOR the inclination to go thru a process & protocol of waiting while a Parker OR a Wiggins, or any of these perceived hot shots find their way. Get back on the court/ASAP, rehab the ankle & knee thru game play, get rid of the contracts, finagle Nash past the doctors, sign two piped niqqers with blow torches & pliers and get on with it.

This. And come on with no Kobe, no pg except a dleague reclamation project Lakers will be projected for a top 7 spot at least. Then they just need luck or Stern to intervene. Not even healthy Kobe can redeem this mess ...

We know for sure a healthy Kobe can't redeem anything any more. He would only usher in the losing in a more exciting fashion if youre into that kind of basketball.

Well, if you'd uncross your fingers & toes he might have a fighting chance.

I'm so sick of listening to ESPN talking heads saying that the Lakers are 'tanking' and that's why they're losing all these games.

They're not tanking. They just suck. A team that's tanking doesn't pay their starting center (Gasol) 19.3 million, and their injured SG (Kobe) 30 million a year. Furthermore, the Lakers franchise can't afford to tank. West Coast fan bases WILL NOT watch a team if it doesn't perform. Especially in LA. Everyone underestimates just how much impact a losing and hopeless season can have on a team financially.

Tanking doesn't make any sense for teams with an established and loyal fan base. If you're the Bucks, or the 76ers, and you aren't going to suffer any significant drop off in attendance, then yes, you can tank. But if you're the Lakers, you can't because your brand takes a HUGE hit.

The Lakers are trying to win. But they have the worst roster in the NBA, have a ton of injuries, and they play in the ultra-competitive West. That's why they're on a 6 game losing streak and 13-19. Not because they're tanking. That's just a pathetic excuse that talking heads that root for big market teams and Laker fans want to believe.

You're mixing your common decency with your 6. Yes, the Lakers aren't tanking. Yes, the Lakers suck. But, you can't blame the Lakers for giving Kobe that contract, or, Gasol that contract. It resulted in back-to-back NBA World Titles + a denial of a Lottery pick into this area. During those contracts you won an NBA World Title as well. And then the NBA steward frog marched your ass to the trophy case and made ya cough it up.

Break my fuckin' rice bowl, with ya. SOB, you!

Tank, rebuild it doesn't matter. Team was OK when healthy. Pg injuries even more than Kobe killing this team. Tank may not be deliberate but happening none the less
