They're not tanking. They just suck. A team that's tanking doesn't pay their starting center (Gasol) 19.3 million, and their injured SG (Kobe) 30 million a year. Furthermore, the Lakers franchise can't afford to tank. West Coast fan bases WILL NOT watch a team if it doesn't perform. Especially in LA. It resulted in back-to-back NBA World Titles + a denial of a Lottery pick into this area. During those contracts you won an NBA World Title as well. And then the NBA steward frog marched your ass to the trophy case and made ya cough it up.
