My current box I've had for 12 years is on it's last legs, getting terrible feedback from the speakers and looking for a replacement.
http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/33/82.JPG (Yeah I keep it trill, fuck you)

Any suggestions? My new system can be more refined but I do want one with some power and some good subwoofers (Current output of system is 360W). Preferably I'd like on with Bluetooth streaming.

Props. Those things last forever. I've got mine sitting outside on porch exposed to heat, cold, dust, whatever. But during the summer, it still cranks out the sound when we're in the pool.

Haven't heard this one, but I'm assuming the same quality but louder. More expensive, but this one does have bluetooth.

Yeah, it was a staple on any summertime BBQs. Can't beat that bass tbh.

Thanks. The first link looked promising, except I would prefer BT than iPod dock. So many older systems have that iPod dock, and its even obsolete (reason I hate proprietary formats)

What about some bookshelf speakers and a receiver? The KRK Rokit 5's are what I use, they're the shit.

I use this system in my room, so a receiver would probably be too much (in terms of need and $$). And if i can get a system that plays CDs, all the better. But maybe I'll find a small and reasonable HTiB system, I'll let you know

How does one get feedback from a portable stereo?

resistanze
01-09-2014, 11:43 AM
Not feedback really, simply a buzzing/humming sound from the speakers. It also distorted the sound and cracks up when there's more bass.

just get the bose sound dock.

I considered that, I've always read they were horribly overpriced, tbh. And I'd rather have something that plays CDs than has an iPhone/proprietary dock.

I was thinking about the Sonos surround system that goes all over the house. You can play isolated music for each room. Thought that was pretty cool. Expensive though.

This one is beastly tbh. I'm liking it more and more - Bluetooth, NFC, CD, USB, and no dock.

Didn't want to drop $500 on this mother fucker but if I can find it in Canada I'll probably pull the trigger. Unfortunately, I can't find it anywhere, like wtf? I went hunting last night and every A/V store had those weak-ass systems with old iPod docks.

You ever get anything? I grabbed a tiny UE Mobile Boombox just for music at night in my room, the bluetooth works perfectly. May get something larger in a few months but am very happy in the meantime $50 and about the size of three packs of nat shermans.

I know the one I want - the Sony one (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-1600w-3-way-mini-speaker-system-with-digital-am-fm-tuner/8986274.p?id=1218960290326&skuId=8986274).

However, it's not available in Canada for some idiotic reason. I temporarily gave up my search tbh

Just set this system up. Very decent, has bass boost for some more umph. Half the weight of my old box :lol

No longer have to use AUX port to my laptop, just synced with BT.

Would be great if it did. But for this price point I guess I can't complain. I'd invest in a receiver in a bigger room when the time comes.
